This is great. The tarp with the stuff on it to hold it down is fantastic!

No Charlie Pride fans?
Shoot! I missed your post. My Dad took me to see Charlie Pride when I was 8 years old at Radio City Music Hall. I knew all the songs and most of the words to them. I was a huge fan. Greatest night of my young life, I was hooked on live music forever.

Very serious stuff, I like it!

I think an appropriate name for this would be: "Hammerhead"
Ooh Not bad.

Very nice!! The red accents and interior go great with the body colors.
Beautiful! Never would have guessed it was a snapper..
Definitely! The red ties it together nicely.

This build looks great! I handle decals over door jambs by cutting the decal straight down the door gap with a BRAND NEW exacto or scalpel blade. Then microsol or solvaset. The decal will wrinkle initially bt leave it alone and it usually snuggles down well. If no, when completely dry you can touch up reany remaining wrinkles. Large wrinkles may require a slit with the new blade in order to get them to cooperate.
Sorry Tim I thought I had already replied to your post. Thanks for the tip, I cut the decals and hit them with microsol. They look much better. Luckily these decals went on pretty easy. I've done a couple lately that have been a problem, but it was certainly a learning experience.

You had a very good year! This is almost a bit of a tease, I would love to see more pics of all of them.

Pretty dang near flawless! Your black paint is beautiful, flat and deep. All are amazing though, you did some great work.

Very cool build. I did one with almost the same color. I like the black fenders and roof, it breaks up all the purple. You need a little better light for your pics. And a picture of the dash! Doing the dash was the most fun I had building mine and yours probably looks great.

Paint looks great! I'll be following with interest as I'm thinking of putting this on my "to do soon" list.

It's looking good. I'm dying to see the paint, I hope it works with the clear coat.

I could swear I've been in the back of that car before ?. Nice job.

Nice trucks. All very clean work. He likes the red! Nothin' wrong with that but I was kind of looking forward to seeing the Diamond Reo in blue like his 1:1.

That's a good looking little car. The name has a nice ring to it too.

Cool build!

It looks like a funny car blowing a bubble ?. You're doing some super nice work with these. This is no different! Beautiful job.

I remember I also had to buy something else with it at the same time--I think it was some kind of "accessory set" that I needed just for one fitting or adapter or something. IIRC the compressor comes with a regulator built in and I think I added the water trap I already had. I also had to use something or other from my old setup, a hose fitting or something.
So it's not 100% "plug and play" right out of the box, but I remember that I WAS able to get it up and running on the first day, without having to make another trip to any kind of store. I was also impressed that Campbell-Hausfeld had something like six "service stations" within an easy drive of me--not that I've ever needed anything fixed on it.
At this point, if the thing blew up tomorrow, I'd just go buy another one. It's given me almost 15 years of fabulous service for under $90. And last time I looked, today's price on the same model is actually LESS than I paid for mine in 2002. IMHO one of the last true bargains still available today (along with the Ontario USGI machete).
ETA: I think this is the model I have. If it's not, it's the current-day replacement:
I'll check it out when I pick it up tomorrow. It seems like it's just the compressor and nothing else from what I see on the website.

Great review, thanks for posting it!
Jersey Red, is there a Walmart near you? If so, check out their Campbell-Hausfeld. Under $100 and mine has done everything I've asked of it since I bought it in 2002. I've said many times that the day I brought this thing home and first used it was the single happiest day of my adult modeling life. Couldn't like it more!
Thanks! This sounds very cool. I'll be going out near Walmart tomorrow and they're in stock so I'll pick one up then. I'm too psyched!

Thanks for the heads up guys. I haven't run into the problem on jobs I've done with spray cans but I'm about to do my first with an airbrush. I thought the body was ok but now I'm going to go over it carefully and make sure my work looks good and smooth.
Sorry to hijack the thread for a bit. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Thanks for the review. Do the California's have a good reputation? I'm looking for a new compressor with a tank as the one I have is tankless and I'm really not happy with it. With the great price I checked this model out. Unfortunately it's much too big for the space I'd need it to fit. It stinks because the smaller ones are significantly more expensive. I guess I'll just have to keep looking for the right one for me.
