  1. To much snow and -35 the past 4 days...
  2. Aside from a bit of cleanup the suspension is done in the Toyota.
  3. Started building the suspension for the Toyota. it’s my first attempt at functional suspension.
  4. My two valiants the 2022 cannonball build and a few more... and I’m sure that I’ll find a few more that I’d like to build this year...
  5. Started cutting the Toyota apart to fit the LS.
  6. I think I’m finished painting now, time to finish the interior and engine.
  7. Started applying paint on the truck today, so far I’ve got two colours on it and still need to do a few more browns
  8. It’s from a revell kevin harvic nascar kit
  9. Started on the roll cage and tubs today.
  10. Made some progress on the suspension today, the rear frame section is almost complete and I decided to throw a coat of paint over it to see how it looks. I also figured out what I’m doing for the front suspension, it’s also from the monogram t bird. I think I’m going to have to adjust the ride high in the front and trim the engine cross member because right now I can’t even put a peace of paper between it and the ground...
  11. Yeah since discovery velocity started re running all the street outlaws over Christmas it’s all I’ve been watching and the farm truck is in my opinion is the coolest vehicle on the show so I decided to build my own version but since I have so many of the 67-72 Ford truck models and like just about every Ford truck ever built it’s a no brainer for me to build a ford.
  12. Clearly scale makes a hellcat convention kit, I’m not sure if they make the wide body flares though
  13. Finally decided to cut apart one of my moebius 70s fords so I can run some really big tires... the engine and rear suspension is from an old monogram pro street T bird. I haven’t gotten to far into the project yet and need to figure out front suspension as well as interior and paint but it’s so far off to a good start.
  14. That’s the plan, I want to go with a overlander/go anywhere off road style truck. I’m already planning on ditching the ifs and going with a Dana 44 out of a Revell bronco as well as 4 link with coil overs front and rear and maybe even a roof top tent or camper with an exo skeleton. picture of what I’m using as my inspiration.
  15. Well you can count me in with a Toyota hilux (the world’s most indestructible truck) my birth year is 2001 so it falls right in the middle of the 97-05 that this generation of hilux was manufactured. Unfortunately the kit doesn’t have an engine so it will require some cutting but I think the clearly scale LS with a procharger will hide under the hood nicely.
  16. I started building model cars when I was 10 and I’m 20 now and have accumulated about 20 cars and trucks (most not in running or driving order) but I’m currently building myself a 1971 Plymouth valiant pro touring/stock car and a 1977 Ford F-150 4x4 short box that I’m doing a restoration as an 80s show truck. And when I’m not working on my own project I work in a custom/restoration shop and have had my part in building some pretty cool cars and trucks over the past few years
  17. Sublime green 1968 Dodge Charger with a mat black hood, HEMI hood scoop, 440 6 pack with a 4 speed pistol grip, Dana 60 with 4:10s, black interior with hi back bucket and some 15” American racing torque thrusts with bfgoodrich white letters. Or a black 1969 Plymouth roadrunner 426 HEMI 4 speed car with pistol grip, black interior with a bench seat, 14” steel wheels and red line tires. so far the closest I’ve got to either of my dream cars are my 1971 Plymouth Valiant with a 340/727 console shift with white hi back bucket and a 1967 Plymouth satellite factory 383 hi performance package 727 auto console shift (unfortunately the drivetrain isn’t there anymore) and the body is rough but it’s still one of the coolest cars I own.
  18. Wow has it really been 4 years since the last race already? Although I didn’t finish my first build I really like the period correct rules and I have a few ideas for a build.
  19. Thanks, the frame rails are 1/8” 2x4 square tubing with a 1/8” plate on the out side that I got cut to shape on a plasma table and decided it would be cool to get Plymouth cut in it so it’s that extra bit unique.
  20. About 6 months ago I purchased a 1971 Plymouth valiant with a 340/727 and have been using the Chrysler kit car that you could buy straight from Chrysler as my inspiration for the build and it just so happens that AMT make a kit of the car I’m using for inspiration so it’s a no brainer to build a model of my car. My car will be running the 340 with either a 5 or 6 speed transmission, Ford 8.8 rear end with coil overs and 4link, tubular front suspension and a full roll cage and frame ties similar to the one in the kit (I want to race the car) and I don’t plan on painting the car. I’ve already started doing some serious scratch building on the 1/1 due to front frame and floor rust due to the sunroof that someone cut into the roof I will be doing as much as I can with the 1/25 scale version as I’m doing on the 1/1. I am using the 340 from an amt 71 Plymouth duster kit, doing the same patina and building the 4 link suspension as well as much more that I’m sure will change with the 1/1. thanks for looking and stay tuned for updates on both the 1/1 and 1/25 scale valiant’s
  21. Well after a lot of searching and trying to find a few different models I have decided to go with one of the Aoshima 1997-05 Toyota hilux I haven’t decided on what one of the 3 kits pictured but I do believe that they are all just curb side kits so there’s lots of potential for some interesting engine swaps....
  22. My entry for the 2021 cannonball is a Revell/Monogram 1969 GTO judge body with a Revell modern NASCAR chassis and drivetrain The paint is a spray bomb Chevy Red with a few different shades of testors and tamiya brown and black with some primer grey and the iconic GTO orange showing through in some spots. the air dam is the Revell NASCAR rear wing that is modified to fit the front end of the GTO and the KC lights are from a Revell 91 Ford F-350 roll bar. The engine is from the NASCAR kit as well but with a few minor changes such as the supercharger from a clearly scale resin LS3 and it is painted a slightly more modern version of the original Pontiac blue.
