  1. Another beauty David! Yeah, you could tell the drugs were prominent back then, some of the designs were definitely done under the influence of something other than oxygen!
  2. Jeez, that one huge exhaust pipe...tell me it's not a fart-can!
  3. Killer build David, you're dropping some beautiful work on us!
  4. Same here, I had never heard of this one before today. Awesome build of a very cool design! The only Tom Daniels kit I have is his California Street Vette, gotta break that one open one day and build it right this time!
  5. Man, another kit that's difficult to get looking good, and you swatted it outta the park!
  6. You built a super-clean model of a kit that gives most of us fits (Those doors!) and got the windows to work too? We've gotta spend some bench-time together someday, you have skills!
  7. I always hated building the "Showrod" type kits because I break the tiny parts so easily, but I love seeing 'em done by someone else! Great work!
  8. Man, that rusted-out hulk of a car is beautifully done, and the shiny one is just as sweet!
  9. Jason, that is awesome! We've gotta meet up one day so I can see this in person, I work in Wilmington!
  10. Beautiful work David, just beautiful!
  11. Great work Jason, between this, the Howlin' Wolf build and the Moonshiner, you show some incredibly high-end skills. No need to doubt yourself brother, you're good! Now I finally know where the chopped top I have in my parts stash came from, thanks Glenn! I've had it for years and had no idea what it came from, because I never bought this kit!
  12. Michael, I would not put a body with any kind of filler in a dehydrator if it's already finished. It will cause shrinking, I learned the hard way. I've thought about trying it before the filler has been sanded to pre-shrink it, but always forget until after I'm done sanding.
  13. Just got my half of a trade with 426 HEMI today. Not pleased at all with it...I'm ecstatic! Some awesome resin MOPAR LA Small Blocks, aluminum breather caps, valve covers, etc., and all look incredible. I will definitely be doing more trading with John!
  14. I'll definitely be watching this one TJ, I love the '71-'74 Chargers! Nice color on that one too, how much did it cost him?
  15. Welcome back Steve, nice looking Impala, along with all the other builds you've posted! I've gotta ask, do you remember what you painted your exhaust with on these kits, it looks great!
  16. Nice start John, and that modified chassis looks great! I've done the silver/aluminum gas tanks myself for as long as I can remember, it just looks better that way to me.
  17. Chris, I used styrene strips then sanded them until they looked good to my eyes. Some 4 inch wide masking tape, trimming, and paint and it was done.
  18. I used 3M Blue painter's tape when I did my vinyl top, and it came out nicely. Put the tape down after adding the seams, trim it up, and paint it whatever color you want!
  19. Ken, I've always used either Dupli-Color Clear or U-Pol Clear over Sinful Colors nail polishes with no problems, have you tired either of those yet?
  20. You can only use a water-based clear on the Molotow Liquid Chrome markers. I've brush-painted some Createx and Vallejo Clear over it and it worked fine. My next experiment will be to airbrush the Molotow (once I get my refill bottle that is!) and airbrushing the clear. Brush-painting the clear proved they are compatible, but brush marks in the clear kind of ruin the chrome!
  21. Jason, get a can of Dupli-Color Primer/Sealer and you'll have no bleed-through, I used it on the Revell '77 Monte Snap kit (Molded in red), painted it with some Pearl Green nail polish and a White vinyl top, and it came out with zero bleed-through.
  22. Nice start Chris, and a great color combo. Having built this one (And re-built it to correct this mistake!), I can offer one big piece of advice. Cut the side windows loose from the front and rear windows, then trim them up to fit flush in their openings. If you don't cut them loose, you'll end up with problems getting the chassis and body together properly, my rear bumper wouldn't go on right until I did this. Everything else on the kit is awesome, fix that one problem and you'll have no other issues!
