Hi Daniel. That's too cool and really a match. Congrats on your beautiful car. Certainly there are many possible combinations, but the one which you own (and I built) with that bronze color and steel wheels I like most. ...and well, a hemi. ;)

  2. Hi there. Here we have the Audi Quattro Rally kit from Italeri. Quick built mainly out of the box. Just lowered the suspension, added fender flares (even the box photo shows them, the body comes without them), used wheels from Reji Model and changed to tarmac tires. I guess it was never running that way on the Monte Carlo, but nevermind....

    Very nice build Sebastian!

The stance is perfect, I love the steel wheels and I'm partial with the black hood with the six pack scoop since I have done the same thing on my '69 MPC Coronet build. ?

Thanks a lot, Franics. At the moment I like the black hood the most, too. But also nice to see it with the others from time to time. Curious to see some pictures of your Coronet then.

By the way, I like your 70 GTX and 72 RR very much, outstanding mopars.

I'm right there with you ( though I'm not sure that a Hemi model would have that standard bonnet --- I'll have to look at Hamtramck Historical for a definitive ) .

@justanothermopar : I'd like to suggest Tamiya Panel Line Accent for the door lines and other panels ( cowl vents , etc. ) --- even a fine line Sharpie would work --- to complement the black interior , and draw some attention from the V6R tail stripe . Looks lovely ne-er-the-less -- beautiful execution !

Not sure myself if those hoods are all hemi matching. I guess there not. ?

I already had in mind to highlight the door lines with one of the next models. Thanks for the advise, will probably give it a try with the Tamiya then.

Looks like you did some extensive work on the headlights. Looks really nice!

I have an SMH body in the que. Good to know it comes out this nice!

    Carmak

Thanks. I also have some more SMH bodies to work with and looking forward to do so. So far I didn't use much other resin kits and cannot compare, but I think the SMH bodies are very good.

  6. Hi there.

Here we have a 69 Coronet R/T built from the SMH resin kit and using the AMT 68 roadrunner chassis. Steel wheels are from Scenes Unlimited. Color is Tamiya TS-84 gold, as far as I remember. I had some issues with the front and tail lights but they came out more or less OK. I also used some more available hoods. Hard to say which one fits better. What you guys think?

  7. Brett Bodine's Thunderbid the way it was running, I believe, the 1992 season. I had to take the earlier Buick decals and mix them with the Quaker State decals from a later Thunderbird. Actually that car was the first car model I built, which was more than 25 years ago. I found that Irvine Thunderbird in a box and decided to re-do it properly. Result is far from perfect, the green color I guess not exactly the right one. Anyway... ?

    Well done!

the orange Looks like there is a little bit of metallic in?

It was just standard orange, non-metallic. Maybe the imperfect paint job looks a little metallic. ;)

This build is nothing short of spectacular!! Every thing looks perfect. Fantastic detail on the Hemi. A very nice Super Bee indeed.

What did you use to make the fuel filters?

They are scratch built. Just used small metal tubes, inserted cable insulations and painted them silver.

  11. Hi everyone. Thanks a lot for your compliments. As already mentioned that kit is a bit strange one and even more funny it was when they used the same for the Dukes of Hazard. But the race version parts including some engine upgrades and a cool tire/wheel combo is a nice extra which I partly already used for the Superbee I just finished.

Anyhow, I also like how it turned out and it makes a good part of the collection.

    Cheers....

Very nice Charger. I agree that the color is indeed very nice.

Do you remember if it was the AMT, or the MPC kit?

Im not even sure if either kit was a reissue, but I’d like to build one, and was wondering  which was the better kit.

It was the AMT kit. I little strange kit as the box is showing wheels and air cleaner which were not part of the kit. With taking below photo I also just recognized that the number plate of the car is stating "69 GTX".

That's a great build! Which color did you use, hemi orange metallic?

Hi Thomas. Thanks a lot. The color is just the standard Revell orange. I still had one of those small air brush colors in the glass. It may appear a bit more like the Go Mango maybe. The original Hemi orange would have been nice, too, for sure.

  14. As I had the camera still ready I just took another Mopar out of the shelve, cleaned it from the dust and made some pictures. As far as I remember it was out of the box except the hood and the wheels. Well, I guess the kit is known to be not one of the best. Anyway, to complete the b-body collection it turns out quite OK. Color is model master dark bronze out of the spray can. Very nice color which gives nice impressions under different lights (can see at the last two pictures).

Sometimes they come back even after sanding. I have found that when they are severe, after sanding when you prime, put down very light mist coats.

Hi Lee. Thanks for the advise. Will surely try it with my next build.

Great build! Did the engine parts and scoop come from the Hemi dart kit?

Thanks. The engine is mostly the AMT Roadrunner Hemi, air cleaners, too. The cross ram intake is from Missing Link, carburators and ignition distributor are from the Revell Charger, rest is scratch. The hood is taken from the Revell Landy Charger kit.
