  1. My biggest problem I'm having is the color. Originally I wanted to go with a black body and everything in the engine bay, the frame, and most of the suspension a coral pink. Well the pink didn't work out so now I'm toying with a lighter gold color with brown where the pink would be
  2. After a little work with some Tamiya gray putty and some 320 grit the my work starting to shape up, I'm thinking of using the kit supplied cragars because they just seem to fit right in
  3. One question.looking at the very front of the dashboard where it mates up to the windsheild I'm noticing what looks like 4 openings for possibly the defrosters? Not sure if that's what they are but may I suggest dropping some flat black in there?
  4. Great job! I love how you went with your own colors and strayed away from the traditional ferrari red.
  5. After mocking all the pieces for the front end in place I decided to do something different. After placing a piece of tape across the grill to get an idea of what it might look like out comes the xacto againit's going to be tricky to get it to look right when this is what I have to work withAfter a little measuring and a lot of passes with my knife it's time to dip the top half in some purple power and get that chrome off thereNow I can start to see what it will look like and I'm happy with itAfter a lot of sanding and filler it will shape up. I just need to let all the glue dry overnight and I'll get right to it
  6. I started with some filler in those ugly wiper placement holes. She'll never see the rainNow its time to cut this panel off and smooth things out! After a few passes with an xacto, a little grinding with a nail file, and some glue it's looking much betterAfter the glue dries I'll do a little sanding and add some filler and get it all smoothed out. In the pictures the panel looks a little high but i assure you the meat of it lines up fine. Its the angle of the edge on the bottom of the piece making it look odd
  7. I'm a few days from completion on the same kit. I too had a problem with the transfer case making the motor want to lean to the passenger side. And the roof structure around the windshield frame was bent to the passenger side. A few twists and it seems fine now. Although the windshield hasn't made it in yet so i might be in for trouble
  8. Extremely cool. Thats a whole different version of a widebody golf. Two thumbs way up
  9. Extremely cool. Are those the foose fd100 wheels?
  10. I have both the american revell rabbit and german revell gti, and just in today the amc rerelease scirocco. The rabbits going to be widebodied with the awd driveline from the revell eclipse gsx, not sure what I'm going to use for a powerplant on it yet. The gti will be a slightly customized but mostly stock, and the ideas are still turning for the scirocco. Although I have this storm trooper all white and black idea I keep coming back to. Its going to be awhile before I progress on any of these but I'll post pics as I go. Still have a lot of parts to gather before I can dive in
  11. I agree. At first I was unhappy with the kit. After filling in the mirror holes and spare tire rack holes. And got a coat of paint my mood changed
  12. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MFF8LPL/ref=pd_aw_fbt_21_img_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=3B68PSBK8YBPDNYDR5NG thats an amazon link to tthe exact piece I have. Check in the similar items underneath it. There are many different small tow behind campers. The one thing I would like to point out is theu advertise it as a 1/24 scale. It is not. The thing is gigantic behind my 1/24's and thats why I had to go with the ramcharger because its a 1/25
  13. The airstream is a die cast. Ive seen the one I have. A stickered up version of the same bambi, and a couple other small camper styles at wal-mart, toys-r-us, and meijer. But meijer is only in Michigan and a couple bordering states
  14. I got an Airstream Bambi as a birthday present and it was off to the hobby shop to pick a good candidate for a 1/25 scale to pull it. Originally I was after something '50's and wagon based. Something about the ramcharger spoke to me. So here it is. My version of a 1980 Ramcharger built to look like a restored to stockish specs with a little personality.
  15. That cuda is going to look sweet parked next to that challenger. I myself am working on the same kit with a much different approach. My wife was with me when i was browsing a local hobby lobby and said she wanted me to build her one and she wanted to pick the colors..... Brown and of course... Pink. I'd post pictures but am afraid of being laughed off!
  16. Nice build. I just finished the 1973 rerelease.... Which was honestly one of the worst kits I've encountered and it had one of the best turnouts of any of my builds. Although I went with a more radical custom theme. I can see the difference in the kits in spots like the interior, and exterior badging. Otherwise they look like the same kit
  17. Hi everyone, My names Tony and I'm a modelholic. I used to have a whole mess of good stuff but after my fathers passing his late wife went cuckoo and sold all mine and his collection in a garage sale. So I lost hundreds of my hard earned and well spent dollars so she could erase memories for 5 bucks a box. Anyways I was left with 1 full kit, a miniscule amount of parts, and a few paints and brushes. That happened a couple years ago and I gave up until just a few short months ago. Slowly I'm rebuilding my collection by scavenging facebook, hobby shops, facebook sales, and now I get to hopefully scavenge some goodies here. My build style is mainly custom pieces. Being that I grew up in body shops next to dad restoring and customozing some of the most incredible cars. Not to mention my dads super cool taste in the cars he drove... Just let me list a few I remember well. Orange with white striped opel gt, stock 1st gen mazda rx-7. A couple ford couriers and their counterpart mazda B2000s one of which he turned into a lowered convertible painted plum crazy purple, a wicked lifted 1981 toyota pick-up painted white with blue flames, and my absolute favorite was his blacked out '84 Gti with custom ghost checkered flag wrapping the entire back half in pearl blue. So my taste is'nt far off. My hands down favorites are the mk1 and mk2 Vw's leaning more towards the mk1. Owning a 1988 16v scirocco was a very proud segment of my 32 years on earth. I hope to get to learn some of you here, and learn some cool new ways to detail my pieces. I'm an easy going guy that loves cars from all corners of the earth and enjoy seeing the love others have for them as well. Happy building and thanks for the future tips and advice
  18. Great detail! I immediately thought of jay lenos toronad.
  19. Lousy indeed.lots of pitted areas on the body. Terrible interior tub fitment. Couldn't get any sets of wheels to fit underneath it decently. Don't even getme started on the 429 fitment.
  20. PamO I'm from Kalamazoo. I'm living in it right now lol. I believe that stretch you talk about was inherited by the gazette here. They have a giant rolled up newspaper on the roof and it's mainly a parade vehicle now. When i was a kid I lived in fulton and the house next door was abandoned years before I moved there and it had a heavily sunken into the dirt marathon i used to play in when mom wasnt paying attention
  21. A close personal friend of mine saw the 1st kit I've made in years. The foose fd100 pickup. He then challenged me to a buildoff. What he didn't know is i had bigger plans for the foose kit and due to some paint malfunctioning I ditched the silver idea i had and sprayed it all flat white to hide the mess up and slapped it together with very little detail just to get it over with. So off to hobby lobby we went both coming home with a 73 stang kit and both with a different shade of purple as a base color ( the wives decided they wanted to take part and they picked the colors blindly to us) So I took my time and let my imagination run wild and came up with this..... He wouldnt even let me post pics of both cars to let you guys vote on. He just said I won hands down and ordered the prize kit of my choice off hobbylinc and in a couple more days I'll be dipping into the amt rerelease VW Sciroccocustom made lift off air cleaner based off a 1937 ford i picked up because the cleaner options in the kit wouldnt work for my vision. Also my 1st time using a distributor wiring kitcustom made NASCAR styled spoiler using a speedway gas station rewards card its hard to see but the big end of the blue stripe is actually 2 different shades of blueove
