I actually got around to putting in my pre order yesterday, you won't have a problem with the quality of Chris's work.

Not forgetting the T1 Westfalia camper that was recently released, this is the one there basing the Kombi kit on.

Lovely build, I think I'd have chucked the towel in and closed the workshop for a while, I'm loving the colour scheme and may well use it for when I get around to building the Revell 57 Ford

That's the VW T1 Kombi kit coming in 2021 from Revell Germany, and yes, it's pretty much the Camper version with interior changed and a non Camper roof panel. Most T1 Campers started life as a Kombi.

It seems that Revell are going through the back catalogue of classic German tractor manufacturers, and they have plenty to choose from.

Some Routemasters had, like the Revell model, had frames fitted to the body, some didn't, but in each case the advertising posters were simply glued onto the body, obviously ones that have been restored use self adhesive vinyl, originally they would have been thick paper with a varnish brushed over them to protect them from the weather.

It helped when I used to own the vehicle it was based on....

Yes,there are both LHD and RHD dashboards included in the kit, on a side note, less than 20% of all E Types were RHD from the factory.

The only time a British car didn't leak oil was when the oil had either escaped or burnt off.....

Looking forward to seeing this one progress, I've got 3 of these, every time I think about starting one, I chicken out, there's still a few original Routemaster buses working in London, on routes 9 & 15.

Yes, it's a thin (aluminium) skin held off the main roof panel with spacers, it let's air pass through between the two, inside there's 4 vents that can be opened to let the air in.
