I really wish I had any kind of styrene or evergreen rounds, but I make do with what I have!
I also just realized I don’t have any drills

Swapping wheels gives me a lot of frustration too. Sometimes it’s easy and sometimes it’s not. Even though I buy lots of Evergreen, I still clip off and save large or long straight sections of sprue off the trees. A good quality set of drill bits is essential too. A lathe is really nice to have, but a cordless drill can suffice for most tasks.

Freeze plugs….I somehow blew a freeze plug in my Jeep.🤷‍♂️.Anybody replace a set of freeze plugs?I know freeze plugs are not normally a part of an engine that needs to be replaced. And if they do need to be replaced, most times they are replaced with the engine out of the stupid car.But that’s not an optioon for me..I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, straight six.My buddy and I got them out but that took forever, and now we are having a lot of trouble getting all of them back in.Even with a freeze plug tool I got from Summit racing.I know we have to remove part of the exhaust, but that’s easier said than done.Anyway again,I was just wondering if anyone has replaced their cars freeze plugs, and might have some advice.

    I Thank you

If you blew one why are you replacing them all? If it was just the one you could possibly replace it with a block heater that is sealed with an O-ring…more expensive likely but easier to install. If you are running straight water in the system, consider switching to antifreeze. Not only won’t it freeze, but it has a lot better cooling properties than water.

I thought of putting magnets at the back but I think I could also just put a small lip at the two rear corners to keep it down. Like take those tabs at the corners and add a leg to them.🍗 No not a Chicken leg 🦵 That's better.

As for the mailbox I used to joke with the guy that he spent his spare time licking stamps. Ticked him off something serious. "you don't like these stamps, they loose their value........😖

I added a couple of little tabs to the body in front of where the tabs on the hood are located. It seens to keep the hood from skewing off to one side. Knowing this kit however, by the time I get to final assembly, the hood may well sit wonky again.😬

Great job on stretching that sprue.👍 Don’t be scared, it’s only plastic.🤪 The hardest part of a vinyl roof is the trim and seams. These two are just Tamiya XF-86 flat clear over a gloss black. Spray from a bit of a distance so that you get a slightly textured finish.

So does that mean you actually have to follow the instructions in order?🤔 Where’s the fun in that 😴

I’m not really known for doing that🥴…but the axles attach to the  leaf springs which are part of the frame rails. I can probably attach the three rear crossmembers and still spread the rails enough to slip the engine into place. But it has to be in place before the front axle goes in.

  6. Not much progress on this one yet. I’ve been busy finishing up the ‘49 Merc and still fiddling with the ‘41 Plymouth. Anyways… I have been redoing the mounts on most of the engine accessories. I drilled out the horn and the carb and remounted the ?? backfire arrestor? I want to add plug wires so I built a wire routing loom from 1/16” brass tube. The kit has nice molded in spark plugs, but I think they are too tiny to drill for the 0.012” wire I plan to use. Plus one plug is broken so I will have to think of another option. Thanks for looking.
