Oh yes,The map price game My last real job was at a mom and pop music store as the guitar sales clerk My experiance with the map program went something like this. Sales rep from guitar brand F set your store up as an official dealer of brand F guitars and accessories. All brand Fs products are covered by a map program. Brand F is also sold at mega super size global conglomerate Music store X One day wile looking at MSX website i see brand F guitars advertised at below map Knowing full well after being reassured by sales rep from brand F that any map violation will be dealt with quickly,I call said rep and report price infraction. Once again i am assured that this will be corrected as everyone has to play by the rules. Meanwhile, two days later i look at the MSX site and low and behold,Guitar F still there at below map Sometimes the stuff was below what my store had to pay as a official dealer I have a feeling Tamiya is gonna cozy up to all the mega outlets and let the mom and pop store take yet another blow till there are none left

I now have the wheels/tires and frame together. I adjusted the rear height some but left some on the nose dive in it. Hopefully the cab will mount nice and square one the chassis -

There should be warning about this kit Im now working on the frame /suspension and it looks like its gonna be doing a nose dive.Either the back is too high or the front too low.To the Google pics to see if the 1 to 1s sat like that. So far i've had to fix/repair or rebuild some part of each step with exception of the wheels and tires. Gonna be a minuet wile i figure out how level this thing out Still love a challenge though OK,after a google search i found what appears to be factory shots of the truck and indeed it leans forward, but not much I still think im gonna adjust the ride stance -

Here's the motor minus the exhaust manifolds. No distributor and in another thread about the scale of things, whats up with the belts and pulleys, they look way to big to me. I have lost the part that goes behind the pump at the top pulley so ill scratch one out after i find a distributor. -

Revell 41 chevy truck
Spruslayer replied to Spruslayer's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks Guys I stressed over the color combo on this one It took me three colors to arrive at this version. The fenders and running boards stayed the redish brown and the hood, cab and bed was the trouble for me Now to concentrate on my TAT 2018 build, the Dodge L-700 Tanker in Texaco colors -

A question of scale
Spruslayer replied to El Roberto's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This is from a new guy perspective but when i "discovered modeling" again, i did not give scale a second thought as i am into figures and sci-fi. That however dident last long as i began to notice things to be out of scale Now that I've branched into vehicles i notice details that are out of scale and wonder why was this not fixed befor producing the retail kit. -
Here's My second auto model, My first time with chrome foil and plug wires and hoses Next up is the Revell 41 Chevy Truck

Well, the Meyers Manx arrived today,a little worse for wear but the model box and kit survived. After its little tour of the usa it arrives in a flat rate box that is obviously been retaped after being smashed open, and it was wet!How hard is it to know not to put a 60 lb package on top of a 1 pound package, and how the package got wet is beyond me. Ok,im over that. Now on to the model Looks like a fun kit, includes a cardboard burger joint display and the transparent purple is psychedelic baby I will give a big two thumbs up to the Sales Shack for fast service and great prices -

My kit was scheduled for Monday delivery,it dident show up so i went to the USPS tracking and it went to Florida and has bounced around a couple of city's down there and the latest info says in transit to next destination, who knows where that will be No fault of the seller, just another fun filled exciting service the USPS provides....................at no extra charge I like my models well traveled -
Stunning work What is the scale Can you give us any details on the kit or parts?

TAT L-700 7-8 trailer done
Spruslayer replied to Spruslayer's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Jacobus, how right you are.On to step three demonstrates exactly what you mean The method of attaching the spindles to the front axle is borderline hilarious. I did a workaround that i hope will still allow to have the front wheels turn.In the pic you can see the added part to try and fix that. Then to figure out how to get the wheels on the spindles to be square and parallel on the truck And the step three shot waiting for deflashing and a bath -
