  1. Decant them and see how they work for you. Does Rustoleum dry pretty quickly out of the can or decanted?
  2. The Goodwood boys went to visit Richard Petty's museum and got to go for a spin in his 1970 Superbird. He was bringing it to England's Goodwood Festival for a spin soon. Lots of closeups while in the museum. Doesn't that thing sound awesome!
  3. Good to know John.. Thanks for posting.. I'm going to try it with and without Lacquer thinner and see which I like best.
  4. I knew something was wrong Michael.. I'm kinda new to all this. I'll be using the decals on the next one.
  5. All great info everyone.. Thanks! I'll report back after I have experimented ?
  6. Thanks Tony! yeah, this was a fun build and I can't wait to do more. Do you know where we can get more decals? I've got two of these and might pick up a couple more but I believe I have 4 to 8 older kits in my stash. Most aftermarket decal sheets cost more than I paid for the old kits so let's hope the decals are still good. I was planning on dusting it up a bit because Chris HPIguy's looked so good that way.. then I was really surprised how well it turned out that I might keep it clean. That's why I didn't sand the tires. It looks a lot better in person than I was expecting.
  7. That looks great too! The liveries back in the day look better than modern day to me for some reason.
  8. Very cool! I love drag cars.
  9. Thanks Chris! Yeah, I did find a little but it didn't seem right so I counted it as nothing. The only info I found for thinning it a guy suggested water??? I'll be looking forward to hearing about your results. That looks good! And you didn't have to thin it? I've always thinned the lacquers I've decanted... seems to lay down better for me. You get a whole lot more paint out of these cans than Tamiya or Testor/ModelMaster. I'm thinking a thinner would have helped but would love to know which is best. My thought would be any lacquer thinner.
  10. I've notice several groups on FB have builds that use Rustoleum spray cans for their paint jobs.. also Chris of @hpiguyuses them on his YT builds. They look good. I don't like to use spray cans though because it is always to humid where I live and it is too much for a paint booth indoors. Has anyone ever decanted it and used it through an airbrush? I searched google and didn't come up with anything.
  11. The detail you put into your builds is incredible!
  12. Is it really that many? I thought it was just the ones they have pics on the cover. Heck of a deal if so.
  13. Thanks Bruce! Thanks Ray! You should give it a try. I found it to be the easiest and most enjoyable of any build. There really are not a lot of parts. Looking at them I thought it would be hard and complicated but it wasn't. This one took me 4 days to build.
  14. This was my first and definitely not last Sprint Car. It was the most enjoyable build! A big thanks to @Italianhorses for posting his photo setup. Though not on par with his skills it has dramatically improved my photos. Thanks for viewing!
  15. Hey @peteski.. I just copied this from a pic you posted on another thread. The label looked just like this one with the eBay stuff printed in the top right. It came USPS
  16. Thanks for all the info everyone. The second kit I won for $10 arrived today. Citgo Ford Nascar. It was still factory sealed in the box and when I opened it everything was in great condition... not a scratch on the glass. But the seller didn't put it in a box, just wrapped it with the paper from a paper grocery bag.. we were both luck the USPS didn't damage it. The price was not listed on the shipping label so I have no clue what he paid but he saved money on the box LOL.
  17. It should be everything (articles and pics, advertisements).. I think they scanned them all in so I don't know about the quality. I've always thought it was strange that they had the magazine but their forum doesn't get much use and yet this forum is strong but its magazine failed.
  18. We still have this.. especially for those of us who are new to the hobby. https://kalmbachhobbystore.com/product/dvd/15206
