  1. Here's another project I have going. It will be modeled after my grandfather's truck which I have inherited here recently. It's a 1980 scottsdale I'm using the 78 big game truck as a starting base. I have plans to rebuild the real truck and this will be a close representation of what it will look like when finished. Started with cutting the motor from the transmission in favor of a carbureted sbc. I also cut the exhaust back as it is on the actual truck.Any suggestions are welcome.
  2. Ok so here's one of the many big rigs I have going at this time. It started life as a 378 long hauler. I used Tim's method to pie cut the hood, lower the cab and make it the 379 short nose. The frame has been stretched 1". The sleeper has been converted to a flt top. It has custom rear double hump fenders as well as intergrated rear bumper. Texas front bumper as well as custom headlights. This will be a full custom job. I have completed one bone stock per a challenge from the wife a couple years back(it killed me to go full stock with no extra detail)lol. Now this one is my baby. I've gotten all this much in primer before the weather turned unfavorable today. The last pic is of the motor and a sneak peak of whats to come with the color scheme. Hope you guys enjoy this. Any suggestions are welcome.
  3. Here's a look at my first large scale build. Plan is full stock and fairly detailed since it seems large scale lends well to this. I'm normally a semi truck and pickup gut but my youngest son picked this out as well as color. Not a stock color as he picked harley orange and black. Cleaning things up has proven a challenge as the seams and other marks are much more noticeable on large scale. It'll be a long build so wish me luck!
  4. Ok guys I am wanting to super detail a model I just got. My question is do I detail before or after final paint. Things like fuel and brake lines that get drilled in at certain places are my concern. It' 1/16 scale so there is plenty of room for detail. Thanks in advance for the adivce.
  5. Hey guys just ordered a 1/16 scale nomad and was wondering where you all find extras and detailing items. I was wanting to super detail this one as well as swap the motor for the 350. Any ideas are helpful as I await it' arrival.
