  1. Oh man ! Instructions on how to get your friend to slip a kit down his pants !! I wanna area scan of the entire sheet too! I'm glad I posted this ....
  2. Doing a 3D model of the bug body .... With brass rods for legs...
  3. It's a die cast I've been working on .... Dales Dead Bug from King of the Hill
  4. Saw this on eBay tonight ..... Got all excited for a cool old wrecked car kit that I had never seen before ..... Until I saw the trans am in the box , and actually read the text on the box itself ...... Is this a joke , or did this really come out ?? https://www.ebay.com/i/332732273183
  5. If only they would re release some actual cool annuals or something .... These show rods don't do it for me at all ....
  6. Did a little scratch building on the propane tank and added a couple decals from my stash to replicate a safety decal , and a brand decal . I'm going to use a modified welding regulator and hose when installed ...
  7. It just arrived .... The guys in the shop are giving it the "once over" to make sure it's good , lol ! Anyone with a production kit handy that can tell me if the air cleaner got engraved mesh ? It's just smooth and plain on this one .
  8. Revell stuff ? Ready to sell some of them ??
  9. Here's the Modelhaus and Greenlight side by side . I foil cast a few of the side details from the GL to add to the MH later on ...
  10. I specifically asked her if she was related to the Revell engineer bearing a similar name. She had a very sly reply , and I took it as confirmation . She also stated when I asked her for more test shots that she did have more to list .... Among other Revell items ....
  11. While I can appreciate the detail that they put in these cars, they are ugly as all hell ... The Chevy Cruz was cool, but these are a little too over-the-top for me ....
  12. I'm going to focus on building up the trailer first , then I'll tackle the pull vehicle and finally the diorama base . I'd really like to do a 60's period camping scene , and I haven't completely closed off the idea of the SD as a tow unit , but I'll have to let my eyes be the final determing factor . I don't have much other in the stash that would mesh well as a tow vehicle . At any rate .... Color one is applied , the chassis is painted ..... I'm going to bed ... Shops closed ....
  13. I ended up winning the 70 chevelle auction ..... Just hope these are real deal test shots and not good fakes ...
  14. While not 100% prototypical , these f150 cab lights make a quite suitable addition . Only a die hard Shasta freak would tell the difference ...
  15. Started my first little correction , splitting the trim at the door . It's a minor nit , but certainly something that needed fixed as it was a solid piece without divider
  16. I'm torn on this. I have a few kits in my collection that I will probably never build. But if I was to sell them I don't think it would bother me if I knew they were going to be built . After all, isn't that the entire purpose of a model kit? In all honesty I think I would rather give them to a builder than sell to someone who is just going to let them sit on a shelf ..
  17. You've got a few years on me .... When I wanted one the prestige kits were starting to skyrocket - $75, 100$ .... Then they released the teal box art version and suddenly I could get them for 10$ ...the screams of angry hoarders could be heard from the rooftops... The kits they bought thinking that they had a retirement fund suddenly tanked... I'll say again , speculators are killing the hobby .. It's one thing to make a dollar if you are a real hobbyist , it's another to only buy to sit on them waiting to strike that unsuspecting builder .... And I understand there's a finite number of kits , and every built one is one less unbuilt "box queen" , but we have to come together to not buy from the speculators who only want a fast buck on our backs ...
  18. As much as I wanted to use the 60 the sizes are just too far off ..... Can't find my 72 , so I settled on this new arrival I bought last week .... Ford flareside AMT kit . Won't satisfy my "period correct" build , but I think I can get a suitable diorama from it ...
  19. Pretty sure the body was based on the recent monogram 60 , as all of the moldings and parts are direct fit including the glass .
  20. After setting them together I'm not real sure they look right together . The scales seem a bit off to the eye . Want to do a national park theme diorama . Might have to hunt a larger vehicle ...
