Source for a small block olds motor
wagonmaster replied to wagonmaster's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Only GM engine that used the same block was pontiac. both the Buick and Oldsmobile used a different block for the 350 and the 455. Being this car is going to be given to my best friend who is a not only a 1970 Oldsmobile Rally 350 owner but an Olds enthusiast and the son of a retired oldsmobile executive and will know the difference. I may look at the 400 in the 69 442 kit but don't know if it was based on the Hurst/Olds or the 442 as the H/O had a 455. ( retro fitted by Hurst) Tim -
I have heard of people using suction cups for woofewrs. HTH Tim

A few years ago I remember finding an article posted on line about converting the incorrect Cummins nt350 to a correct NT35? something about the engine in the 359 pete and other kits being a prototype engine or something along those lines. It was long ago I remember seeing it. Does anyone have info or know of this article. I want to do a correct engine in my Diamond reo build. Thanks Tim

Well I went to an IPMS chapter model show today. While it was a nice show about 150 entries. What irked me was llooking at some of the aircraft models. it seems like you can get loads more aftermarket parts for aircraft than you ever can for car models. Even the tiny 1/72 scale you can get photoetched grills, intakes, engine parts, Etc. and highly detailed resin cocpits etc. So where are the same for the car modelers? no where to be found Rant off Tim

I too would like to find a car model club. There are IPMS chapters. Even a show on Oct 12 at the ranch. I got a bad taste from IPMS. Maybe we could get one going. My son works part time at the Ft. Collins Hobbytown. He may beable to spread the word. Tim -

wagonmaster replied to wraith's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
YEah, there used to be a IPMS chapter club in Souix Falls. When I was in Rapid we used to go to their show and they would come to ours. Not sure if it is still around or not. Tim -
