Hey Tom, Count on it, I'll be there! This will be my last GSL trip, so I won't have the time and money of that hanging over me. I truly want to do more "local" stuff. Limit myself to S.Cal, Colorado, New Mexico, maybe Nevada. I think I may be going through "model menopause". YIKES, not sure what that means!!!! LMAO
Well, BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, I knew I was gonna miss out on seeing some great builds. I especially wanted to see John's Corvette boat. I'll catch it at GSL in a couple of weeks. Eugene Curin's tractor was another that I wanted to see.
I absolutely LOVE being retired, but the "fixed income" part just kills me when I have to make some tough decisions. There are some that are easier than others, though!! Yikes!!!
Thank you for the kind words from you and the rest of the gang. I didn't realize it when I finished this, but this has been a 7 year project from the time I first saw this car to completion. YIKES!!! At least that's what my reference dates start at when I began this journey.
No, I didn't work on it day and night for 7 yrs. but with all the "hunting and gathering" of reference, materials and building of the model took that long. Sheesh, fly times when you're having fun!!!
Are you $#!TT!^& me??? Dear Lord, this is beyond awesome!! And it's in your garage? Ya know, not only am I up for adoption, but I'm house broken too. I can do windows, if that would help?
Oh, wait, I'm in Arizona and you are where it gets REALLY cold. On second thought keep them pics a'rolling!
Excellent work. The only thing I can draw is flies.
Mikey, This is a badass build. I don't know if you were going for the "Vintage", I.E. 60's/70's look, but you pretty much nailed the "Nostalgia" look of the modern Gasser of today. I have a friend who runs a Willys much like yours in California. He does travel to Nevada on occassion, but mainly stays on the Cal circuit. Anyway, with the exception of color (his is red)and engine choice (SBC)you did a great job of getting the Gasser look just RIGHT!!!
Glad to hear you are still plying your trade! Had a design all laid out for them at one time, but decided to save them for another project. YES, they are going to be used, but something as "BITCHIN'" as these babies needs a 'special' project to make 'em standout!!!
