  1. After being on the back burner for a few months, I picked up the pace and started to get things done. Chopping the rear unit and getting the tracks fused back together took time. The work thats taking the most time is weathering every piece being used no matter how small before adding it to the model, sometimes painting an item 3 colors to achieve a certain look, then lightly hit it with 400 grit . A long way to go but its time to stay with it ...
  2. I have a virgin 68 hood , not sure how close to a 67 it is. Let me check on the side glass, but it would also be from the 68.
  3. A few days of sanding and putty and more sanding and more putty to get this far. I gathered up a bunch of parts and started some mock up. Interior still soaking, paint is really holding its ground. Took a shot of a stock 59 body for comparison to the 59 shorty.
  4. I got it free and its a custom. The parts needed to be worked in smooth it was not a tight fit. The rear fender top arch needed mucho work because it dipped in the center . I figured 61 - 62 the parts fit both.
  5. Cool little GTO roadster
  6. This is the last of 4 early 60s custom cars that the original buildet never completed. This screw bottom 59 had the hood neatly removed but I dont have it. The only thing that fits pretty close is a 63 Chevy and I can work with that. It soaked in Super Clean fo almost a week to remove really thick paint. Since the back half of the interior bucket is gone I have this parts box rear seat convertible tonneau .
  7. This save was a lot of work but worth saving these old hard to get nose and tail parts.
  8. Paints dry and now ready for chrome foil. Head lights are clear epoxy. Custom kit grille. Rear lights are trimmed & tapered sprue pieces painted silver then clear red. Rear license plate and club plaque.9
  9. This original 61 comes from the same box of 1960s never completed customs I received from a friend. The 1960 I completed was short and smooth, this 61 is long and has many contours. It was pretty rough in places as the original builder used wood putty and possibly body filler of the day , as this stuff is rock hard to sand. You can see in comparison how much longer it is than stock.I love these old custom front and rear parts. Roof ,tires and hubcaps are parts box.
  10. Yes it is. Pearl Green
  11. This custom was started by the same builder that started the 60 Corvette custom I just completed. This one was almost done but was forgotten about until it was given to me. Im not crazy about the bigger side window treatment but it is what it is. Since the interior has a swivel driver seat and the door was already cut open ,I made a hinge so the door would open suicide style. I would leave the color alone but the front was all cracked and in need of repair but I will try and get the paint as close to original. The running boards and engine area are done in old funny fur that I want to save during repaint. Im not sure yet if I will use the Olds V-8 or the flat head, but it will be done hood delete as an early custom street racer . Complete drive train ,wheels , front tires, rear skinny slicks and glass are parts box.
  12. Wow Bill your builds never disappoint. That interior is unreal. Super job.
  13. It is Pearl Green but was clear coated with Gloss Pearl Clear.
  14. I got this original 60 Corvette body and interior from a friend and after looking at the amount of work that went into it 60 years ago ,I just had to do something with it. I had an original chassis and found a bubble top that was a close fit. Parts box tires, wheels ,lights and decals. Interior done in an angora material.
  15. PM sent from Illinois.
  16. I wanted to keep the drive on both units to the back but I can raise the drives up some and back to tighten the tracks. Cut off the wheel dowel pins and install the drive wheels on evergreen rod. Thanks for the heads up.
  17. I have a long way to go, I have hangers to hold up lines. The hard part was getting the tracks on the rear unit rejoined as they were trimmed down to fit the cut-down body. This build is still pretty much in the trial and error stage..😀
  18. Added another kit into the mix, an M1 A1 Abrams tank by Academy in 1:35th to be converted into my rear power . After much cutting and many test fits this is pretty close to where its going. The tracks are a loose fit as they needed to be shortened and are just on for the mock up. Now I have many tank parts left over if anyone is needing.
  19. In the early 90's I worked as a driver for an electrical contractor for the power company, they had a few Husky 8's and some bigger tracked vehicles to bring in float flat beds on those wooden crane mats.
  20. Nice fab work on everything you've done so far. Should be a beauty.
  21. This idea uses 3 kits. The base is a 1:32 amphibious tank. The body needed to be spun so the taper is in the back along with the drive cogs. Then fill in the big void left over from the turret. Built a tail roller and added tread plate over the repair. I found the easiest part ( and it was all luck) when I cut the cab so it would mount up, it fit exactly like I needed it , interior and all associated parts too. Started mounting the Peerless logging equipment on board today, and so far no glitches.🤞😃
  22. Only slight progress on this old White, the bed is close to being done just need to make some sort of sides and bulk head. Interior just needs final sanding to smooth it out then add some door detail. I also need a double seat for the passenger side.
  23. Polar lights Batman and Robin plus “Batcycle and go kart” . Had some fit issues with the cycle coverings fitting correctly , but once that was resolved the rest was just the paint and detailing .
  24. With just a little white paint work left on the main frame covering and a light mist of clear on the other pieces this ones almost done.
  25. Robin and his kart are done, I dont understand why the windscreen .....but thats me. 🙃 On with the cycles 2 tone black and white paint , fit issues on the front and side fairings have slight problems that need to be repaired before final paint.
