  1. sadly no mr color, but I found another chart, got most of the colors converted, only few left, but tamiya doesnt have them
  2. Anyone has a paint conversion table from Mr Hobby lacquer mr color series to Tamiya acrylic ones?
  3. what is venture number? do I need it when setting up my account?
  4. do you know any other websites like this? maybe some who sell paint
  5. I am more interested in jdm, german cars, but I will have to build few of old american cars, since their colours and engines look great
  6. I see that many on here are interested in old american classics
  7. Any model kits recommendations with opening hood and detailed engines?
  8. There is a pretty big desk in basement with 4 drawers on each side that I am going to use, I was thinking about making shelves, but dont want them to be collecting dust and pouring them on my working area and painted parts
  9. I will be starting my first model kit very soon, but first I need to clean up a spare room in my basement and make it cosy and suitable for working with model kits. Maybe anyone wants to share their own workbench setups? And give me some tips and ideas on what to do and what to make?
  10. That is very nice of you, i sent you a message
  11. thats a cool build, as this is my first build I dont have any parts hanging around, how much would you ask for tyres?
  12. I know, thats why I uploaded a picture of it
  13. uh I see, thank you for the tip! I thought that they might be too wide, although if it sticks out a bit it would give its own kind of look that should be decent i think. DO you know if those wheels come with tyres?
  14. Yes, I will be doing some testing before I start applying paint on a model, I want to get as much info before I start to make it as good looking as possible for my first build. I know that its better to wet sand before applying last coat of paint, but not after priming it
  15. Nicely done! I love this blue colour :)) Do you think I can get similar finish with matte yellow tamiya and Klear Cote Gloss Alclad?
  16. I talked to owner of that shop on what to choose, he told me that Alclad 2 is a decent option for lacquer since I dont need to use any thinner for it, its premixed, so just pour some into the airbrush and I can spray. Also with the paint I can either go for Tamiya or AMMO MIG paints, I dont know which are the better option to go, I haven't decided yet. I know that tamiya X and XF series are not fully acryclic paint, while AMMO MIG are fully acrilic. So I guess Tamiya is the better option in this situation? Also is there a difference to go for X series which are gloss, if I will be putting lacquer as a finishing layer?
  17. Thank you for reply. Aoshima and Fujimi are the shops where I am searching for custom wheels now, since local shop can send them to me. Also do you have any answers to my other questions? that would be helpful
  18. I will be doing carpet imitations with blue flossing, so I'm thinking about making it yellow. Blue and Yellow should match. Also, I think I will be going for AMMO MIG acrylic paint. To my knowledge, I have to paint it yellow, apply decals, apply panel line accent and then spray clear coat of lacquer? This set came with few bottle of paints, do I need to mix them with thinner? Last question: I am looking to buying custom wheels, but I have no idea what size should I pick? 14 inches? 15? how do I know? PS: THIS IS MY FIRST MODEL KIT AND I"LL BE PAINTING WITH AEROGRAPH
  19. Can someone who did this build before reccomend what paint to use from tamiya?
