Right it's a mixture of the 2. It's  fairly common for people to put mustang parts on the Capri because other than the wide fender and quarter panel It's the same car 😉

Yes, except that model doesn't look like either unless you welded the Mustang wheel lips on a Capri.

Well I’m all for the birth year idea but I’m a little stumped on what to build for myself as I can’t think of any good 1:1 cars from 2001 let alone anything in 1:24/25 scale. I’ll keep looking though and if anyone knows of any kits I’m open to all suggestions.

The S10 Extreme is within the body style for 2001 also.

Well said. Now try telling that to the politicians from federal all the way down to the state governors and green nuts. Those green nuts have a one way vision of things without looking at the reality of the world. Our NYS governor wants to ban all gas powered lawn equipment or face $100 fines. I call BS and go **** themselves. I refuse to bow down to their petty laws.

Who would I owe $100? State is a what not a who. :D

There is more than one builder on here that posts about what they can afford and can not afford to do with the hobby from time to time.  So someone makes a post about how they could still build and get a little money back in return.  Why is everyone worried about what he thinks his time is worth to him?

I was just trying to explain how "profit" works.

You can make a profit building model cars $$.. I did it for 20 years, but keep your day Job... Take a picture of a Real Car then build the Model.. In the pictures these were Built for people at Car Shows... Go to Car Show and Show them what You can Do..I did this in the 80s and 90s..(73 Now) I use real auto paint mix 4oz and get 4oz of Harder it only take 4-5 drops of harder....go to a paint shop and they will mix the paint - using the paint code..My cost about 25 to 30 dollars sale for 50 or 60 dollors..make a Little Profit..Sometime I would get 4or5 cars or pick ups to do..I will show some more pics later...Your going to BUILD models anyway..Thanks for Looking Paul

If you factor in costs of time and materials that's a loss.

I used the term "scale model" vs. just a "model" (along with explanation of what each is to me) to try to demonstrate the difference. It is not some official definition. The photos I posted very clearly show the difference.  If you don't see the difference, then these is no point of me trying to explain it any further.

Basically, it's what each of us picture in our head when someone says "model".
