  1. May 12, 2016 The GSL Trustees have heard, from many sources, the false and unfortunate rumor that GSL-XXVI (to be presented next year) will be the final Championship. That rumor is absolutely false. In the GSL-XXV Anniversary booklet, we printed this message: “. . . . [W]e announce . . . that the GSL International Scale Vehicle Championship and Convention will not extend beyond five more events, which would take us to GSL-XXX in 2025. It is possible that GSL could conclude before that depending upon the health of the Trustees and GSL management. The 2025 date will allow competitors to start, or complete, entries they are planning to build for GSL competition. This statement was issued in response to questions about the future of GSL. Other senior GSL Trustees and I wanted to candidly admit that we’re getting older (I’ve just turned 65) and that the Championship will not extend indefinitely into the future. That said, the statement in the booklet cannot be interpreted to declare that the next GSL (2017) will be the last Championship. I personally expect that the Championship will extend until 2025 though it’s likely that new staff members will join in the presentation of this world-famous competitive event. Please pass the word that GSL-XXVI (2017) will NOT be the final Championship – nothing could be further from the truth. For further information, please contact me directly at: msgsl@xmission.com Thank you. Mark S. Gustavson, GSL Founder and GSL Board of Trustees
  2. Wow. That's great !!!!
  3. Thanks Guys. Yeah I got some inspiration from this one:
  4. I have not posted for a while. I think I forgot how to post pictures. Let's give it a try, here goes.......... I just finished this one. Enjoy.
  5. Oh yes, I love this Dave. By the way, HI Dave !! Jim Hollywood Fernandez here. Been a long time. Great to see you building cool model cars.
  6. I would say there are "rarely" new ideas. I had a new idea this morning. Oh darn, I just forgot what it was................ . . .
  7. Correct ! It's not so much about the model. I learned that. Eight builders only three finished. I was there, yes I can attest, Danno did a lot of sharing and b-s'ing.................... LOL .
  8. Wow. Great job. Love that engine !
  9. This was my first quick build. I participated in a 24 hour build session last week, with fellow club members. I finished this model in 19 hours. This was a very different building experience for me. I used the 1966 VW Beetle Tamiya Kit. .
  10. I brought it sometime more than a week ago so I don't remember..... LOL A tube of this stuff lasts me a long lone time. A few years ago I even had to purchase some extra hardener. Yeah, see you later today !! .
  11. I think the history of shrinking putty comes from building models in our younger years. When I was a young boy I used to slop on the one part tube putty in thick clumps when doing body work. Then as soon as I could sand it, I would sand it. Then right after sanding it I would paint it. Just like most kids I was in a hurry to finish the model. And sure enough the putty would still be curing and a few weeks / months later it would show signs of shrinking. .
  12. Here is information form the Bondo website. They have one part putty. Bondo 907. I use the two part putty. Bondo 801. I think if you use one part putty of ANY kind, and you apply paint over it before it is completely dried; it will shrink. One part putty applied in thin coats will not shrink if it is allowed to completely dry before you paint over it. But to be safe I use 2 part putty so i don't have to worry about how thick I apply the putty. .
  13. Nice car. But the engine is probably no good unless it gets rebuilt with some new parts. .
  14. Wow Tom: Your not affected by poison ivy !! You start off with a big one telling us you’re an alien ! Here’s mine: 1. I have been playing the drums since I was 2 years old. My band played along with the Doors, Frank Zappa etc. We still get together and play once each year. Next year is our 50th anniversary. 2. In 1971 I was in Viet Nam refueling river boats at the Mekong Delta. And yeah, I don’t care to talk about it (but I guess I just did… LOL). 3. (Oops there's only supposed to be two.) .
