Super slick looking! I like the combination of colours. I don't follow NASCAR myself, but I bet that looks pretty accurate!

Have you gotten anything more done? I am really looking forward to seeing where you go with it

Nice color and job Declan!!👌
Thank you, I know I seem super overly excited about this, but I rarely actually get a fine job on a finish.

Gotcha, I’ve found Rustoleum can be hit or miss on models. I have been mostly using Duplicolor Perfect match paints since I like how they coat, as well as Tamiya for some colors. The paint from Automotive Touchup is my ultimate favorite to work with, but it is pricier and takes several days to arrive.
Don’t give up though, it’s coming along well otherwise!
I did just get some of the Duplicolor paints, I am looking forward to trying them!
Thanks for the confidence.

I'VE DONE IT!!! I think I finally crossed that pinnacle line in my skill set. I got this near perfect paintjob out of my very finicky airbrush. I was so pleased with this finish, that I immediately knew I had to share it. This is the best paintjob I have ever ever ever done, and I am so proud of it. It isn't as good as anyone else here but I worked *dang* (whoops) hard on it, and it paid off.

It looks quite workable so far.
I wish you better luck on this go around.

Thank you, even if the paint isn't smooth this time, I am going to let it go. I can't afford to keep redoing it.

Uh.... I never actually said because it is a really really crappy paint. I have done my best with it so far, but it is the Rustoleum Metallic Finish.

I've noticed that the temperatures in Canada are in 50's and it's been a little damp with humidity at around 75%. This could be some of your problems with the paint if your painting in an enclosed space like a garage where the humidity can wreak havoc on paint. Do you have a paint booth as of yet Declan?
Unfortunatly, I do not have a paint booth. If I did, I wouldn't be having such issues. My paint area is in the basement, it is less humid than the rest of the house though. I haven't gotten the 50 degree weather but the humidity in Canada right now is stupidly high.

I was hoping someone after me would post 4. I was going for the firing order of a small block Chevy (and many other V8s).

I guess I didn't specify that it was meant to be consecutive numbers...
But sure.

Somewhat like Once upon a time, but with numbers. Only 1 number, someone else has to post before you can post again.
I will start.

Alright, my entry is going to be the Revell 1:48 P51.
This is a kit that I fondly remember, and I still have my original. This may sound like yesterday for most of you, but I made this one about 6 years ago. But considering I have only been modelling since 6 years ago, this is one of my earliest models. At the time I made it, it was one of my best. I was super into aircraft and this alongside the F4U was a favourite.
I want to do some aftermarket stuff with this, as I have never done that before and I think it would greatly improve what I have here. From my 6 years of experience, I really think I can make a replica about 10x better than this one.
If this build off is for prizes, I won't win. But I don't care, I love the idea of getting a chance to redo something of my past and showing off the increase of skill I have had in 6 years.

A red police car. What was your inspiration for this? Pretty neat and nice work!
-
Super cuda! I am working on one right now as well, in orange too! Hopefully it comes out half as nicely as yours did
-
Here is the paint so far. It is a little rough, but I seriously am not in the mood to redo it again. I will do a 3rd light coat in a day or so and that should fix most of it. The rest, will be ignored.
-
That is a super cool colour! Nice work
-
Car is reprimed and I am shooting colour on it today! The body is a little bit rough in spots but I do not care anymore. I just want to paint it and get it done.
Pictures later today!

nice work interesting choice for the name the ss valiant was the name of the ship the pitted and burned fight recorder the enterprise found near the galatic barrier in 2265 in the second pilot where no man has gone before
Thank you!
The name was just a decal I had, and I cut the U of USS as the pirates would not want to be associated with any United star ships. Valiant seemed appropriate as the pirates posses that quality.

This is the weird pirated ship I have been working on in the WIP section.
I got a little carried away with the weathering and made it look weird.
Now try find it in the fleet (or just this half)
This is the other half (sorry for the bad photo)

Finished photos are in the Under Glass section
What did you see on the road today?

I saw the weirdest 2010 Dodge Charger today. It had Baldwin Motion like striping on the hood and sides. It was just... ugly and weird.
Much like that, but on a grey 2010 charger... why??
