  5. Sure, but that big airdam is molded in with the headlight nacelles. If you don't want that, you need to graft on a Hasegawa piece (which fits surprisingly well). *Edit* - unless there's something Tamiya isn't showing us...

Not that I particularly mind - think I'll want my Datsun 240 lowered on the Watanabes anyway (and oh by the way, if the original parts are all there, you'll be able to do a ZG that way too) - but it seems you'll still have to raid a Hasegawa kit if you want a factory stock short nose. If those new trees are the only ones added, the air dam looks molded in with the new short nose piece. Might like two of these actually...

  8. Sure, Alan - I'll try to be more specific with the explanation, then see about pictures a bit later. There are two pieces that make up the bed, the outer fender assembly and the inner liner that incorporates the wheel wells. The bottom surface of the liner is the mating surface between it and the chassis plate, and the designer's intent seems to be that there's no daylight between the two parts when they're glued together. The front locators on both the chassis plate and the bed liner, just forward of the wheel wells, allow this straightaway. The rear ones, just ahead of the rear bumper/tailgate area, stood a bit proud in my sample. So there was a a small gap between the liner and the plate just behind the rear wheels. Don't know if took even five minutes to sort that all out with a file.
  9. X 2, and emphatically. Inserting the wheel from behind is actually my go-to move for any hollow tire that has to stretch over wheel flanges. I've found that even the blackwalls can get scuffed up if you press in the wheel from the front.
  10. Got mine! Every little bit as cool as I'd hoped for. Initial fit of major subassemblies is very precise, with one minor exception - you might find it necessary to take a bit of material off the locators at the rear of the bed liner where it seats against the chassis. I sanded the undersurface of the bed liner flush in that area (there will still be circular reliefs), and took the ring bosses on the chassis plate down to about half their original height; the liner now seats dead-square on the chassis plate. And if that's the biggest issue with this kit, you might just want a few of 'em. I've come to that conclusion. 👍😎

  18. Interior door card panels and rear seat to differentiate from the convertible, I'd say (only 'cause Steve G did). Backlight on the clear tree. Decals, 'n that'd be it, I think.
  19. Loved those kits, though. By the way, the GTP was an SSP, wasn't it? Missed it in the original run but snapped it up later, as I recall... Also, the same seems true of the '82 IMSA. Just looked up the Roush Motorsport kit and found a box with a 1995 copyright.
  20. Thanks for the insight, Steve! Daresay I'm hyped for these even more than the Demon, and that takes some doing. Long hankered for a unibody Styleside, but the '60 was something I didn't even know I wanted. LOVE it when a manufacturer does that. 👍😁
