Have you seen the two wheel/tire sets by Aoshima, that have been talked about recently? I bought three of each set. I really like the offset that they have.

If I use DHL here, I take a double hit on the shipping. DHL I guess is obliged to collect duties/tariffs, all applicable Canadian taxes and a service fee for handling all of this. I have to go to a DHL outlet and pay all of those additional charges before I can get my package. Surface shipping will just get delivered like regular mail.

Gotcha, and yes I’ve seen those new sets. Been out of stock on multiple sites.

There is no argument you have absolutely mastered the use of this paint. You probably are of the roughly 1% that don't really need some of the hobby products I suggest for builders that are not able to get your results and end up frustrated with the whole process. I'm trying to help them get into a mindset of trying products made for hobbyists that have a track record of excellent results. Your models are absolutely outstanding, carry on! Your approach to modeling is admirable, you slowly, methodically tackle each issue along the way. Most modelers don't have that level of patience. They often fail to realize how much mileage under one's belt is required to get to where you consistently get great results.

You’re doing the right thing. Mr hobby’s primers are  top notch, and besides Tamiya the only other primer that rivals it is titan hobby’s primer. I don’t use Tamiya because it’s no longer compatible with scalefinises paints. Mr hobbies primers work with everything I own, and basically fool proof, and with leveling thinner there is no need for anything else for an airbrush user. If all you could use is spray bombs, and get more bang for my buck? I would only use titan hobby’s primer as it’s 400mL a can for $13-$15 and rivals Tamiya, and Mr hobby.

@ Dusty and Bill - two questions.

    1) Is bleed under still a problem,  just like with masking tape?

    2) How many coats of the mask do you need to brush on?

The way I use the stuff I’ve never had any bleed through. Never had bleed through with Tamiya tape except once. But with the mask you have to treat it like tape as well with building up coats or you’ll get an edge you’d have to sand down. Max I ever do is 2 coats because to thin a coat can let paint through, and I like to use the mask along with tape depending on the part.

looks real good, it's a different thing painting the inside glass frame and the masks are great. Do you really mask the outside frame like on the drivers side , as on your model in the photo then spray or brush. The inside glass I got it's the outside frame that troubles me. I have been building for a long time and like most of us have won contests but I am also my biggest critic as I'am sure we all are thanks for your help

Yeah it’s not difficult to mask especially if the panel line is good. There’s good videos on YouTube showing how it’s done. It’s no different than laying BMF imo. You’re just masking, and cutting along the panel line around the door. The rear on the Toyota Supra was a tad harder as the panel line around the window wasn’t the best, but I managed to do it. I also use an airbrush to do it not a paintbrush. The key is building up the coats, and not wet coats same as using an automotive paint .

thanks for all your replies, I am sure i have done everything most of the time it's just fine. Imean if I couldn't pull it off most of the time I would not build sport cars, just looking for other ideas. The black bmf is garbage. I have used carbon fiber decals on some but that is time consuming and hard to pull off

Your best best for a clean finish is masking, and using Tamiya LP-65 or LP-5. That’ll get you cleanest look and finish. Sharpies etc will work, but doesn’t look good imo. Even did the rear window the same mask, and airbrush.
