  1. Dodge offered the Street Van, as part of their lineup of Adult Toys, which also included the Macho Power Wagon and Ramcharger, Warlock, and a version of the D50 import I can’t name off the top of my head. They had a pretty catchy (and fitting) jingle in the Adult Toys commercials as well. The original Street Vans came with metal badges on the fenders that had a rainbow pattern within the script. Later vans had a metallic decal for a substitute. Now you’re talkin’. Roof ribs too. They should’ve never removed them from the tooling. I believe the hood used to be a separate piece as well. Also, how cool would it be to see this bad boy again?
  2. Spent some time this evening making the MPC ‘84 GMC a little more... palatable. A little more sanding and she’ll be ready for some side trim.
  3. Sorry Tom. Unfortunately the Revell kit isn’t what I’m looking for.
  4. Looking for the MPC super snap kit. It doesn’t have to be sealed and unopened, but I’d like it to be complete, and preferably the 2013 Rescue Van reissue. If you have one you want to part with, shoot me a PM, chances are I’d have something(s) you’re interested in. Thanks.
  5. I forgot that VW Group bought Navistar. Are Paccar and Oshkosh the only American-owned heavy truck manufacturers these days?
  6. If bullet holes in a wadded up Poncho gets you guys in a twist, wait until you hear about Cash for Clunkers, or any hollywood production made in the 70s, 80s, and 90s when it wasn’t sacrilege to wad up a numbers-matching Z-28 to get a good action shot.
  7. I wonder if the new kit will come with splitter guards.
  8. GMCs too, naturally. I was watching a GMC promotional film from ‘77 the other day. The narrator/presenter claimed that the fuel tank being on the passenger side was to help counterbalance the weight of the driver. Although the optional second tank was on the driver’s side.
  9. Well as long as everyone’s giving suggestions for the squarebody tooling, here’s another. If you tool up an auxiliary fuel tank that fits on the driver’s side of the chassis plate as a separate piece, the builder would then have the option of one tank or dual saddle tanks.
  10. That would eat up a lot of crafting wire!
  11. Bummer. In the photo the hood looks like a separate piece, maybe they’re leaving the door open for a full detail kit in the future, which would be a smart move IMO.
  12. OH YEAHHH!!! If Round2 keeps this up I’m gonna need to take out a personal loan! I never thought I’d see the K10 stepside return. Hopefully they end up using a different tire than those worn out Firestones, but that won’t stop me from buying multiples. As for the Bronco, Tim Boyd called it. I wonder if it comes with the 2.3L I4 or the 2.7L V6.
  13. I wouldn’t worry. Looks more convincing than my method for plug wires. And if anyone points it out, you can say they’re just well insulated.
  14. You might wanna consider saddling up a Bronco. In 2 years they oughta have most kinks worked out of the them, and some will be entering the secondhand market.
  15. The added engine detail goes a long ways. The white roof looks great, good luck with the black!
  16. I’d say it’s rabbit-sized, Doc.
  17. I agree with most in that Rustoleum’s lacquers are a hit and a miss, more often the latter. That said, I’ve found their enamel sprays to be pretty good. I laid down some gloss black enamel on the roof of this AMT ‘51 Chevy, and after it cured I wet-sanded it with 1500, 2000, then 3000 grit. It then received some Turtle Wax rubbing compound and polish.
  18. Maybe not but wouldn’t it be neat to see the car featured on Jay Leno’s Garage?
