AMT ‘53 Ford F-100
Smoke Wagon posted a topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
This one started off as the most recent Trophy Series reissue. I decided to go the stock route with it. Round mirrors are from one of the mid-60’s Moebius Fords. -
66 Chevy C10 Pro Street
Smoke Wagon replied to bluestringer's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice pro street conversion. As for the wheel tubs in the bed, well that’s okay: It’s not made to haul things, it’s made to simply haul. -
AMT Chevy Silverado

It’ll be a pretty nice Dooley when finished. I like your plan for it. -
What would YOU like to see as a model
Smoke Wagon replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I can see a red ‘73 with a blue driver side door, a gray primered hood, and a yellow list inside. Definitely a few ways to go with a kit like that. A camper shell option would sound sweet too. I agree about the Ranger, it’s odd that the XJ Cherokee wasn’t kitted either given its popularity. -

If we’re gonna wish for all-new kits, how about: -1973 Chevy El Camino -1948-53 Dodge B-series pickup and carryall -1982-88 Ford Ranger -1949-51 Lincoln Cosmopolitan -1939-40 Mercury Eight convertible -Any Chrysler K car Modified reissues: -1950 Chevy Suburban -1981-89 Dodge D/W150 pickup -1951-52 Ford F1 pickup -
Nicely done Lee. Especially on that engine detailing. How did you make that inline fuel filter if you don’t mind me asking?
-
Right, as Italeri already paid the bill for tooling and development, all Round2 really has to come up with is new box art and decals.
-
Now that’s one sweet big brown truck. Pretty cool to see a rod version, and I especially like how you did the passthrough interior and wood paneling. Definitely a fun idea and a great interpretation of said idea.
-
Haha. I think a police department would’ve been getting asked some serious questions if they were still rolling Monacos next to their Caprices and Crown Vics.
-
Yes. Round2 has reissued Italeri 1/24 trucks under the AMT brand a few times now, the Freightliner FLC, (Mack) Superliner, and Ford LTL9000.

Must’ve been fun to watch. While I see a good amount of deer as well, the only animals that manage to go that close to my house are a few pesky stray cats that seem to try their best to outdo my dog in the bathroom department.

Man that is some sweet paintwork.

Thanks Casey

Is the new Olds in 1:25 or 1:24? Apologies in advance if that question has already been answered.

What did you see on the road today?
Smoke Wagon replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Saw another SVT Lightning today, black like the last one, but this time an ‘01-‘04 (had the more tubular grille, 99-00’s have a mesh grille IIRC), it was also not too far from where I saw the last one. -
Coors Banquet. Even better when it’s in a stubby.

Since the ‘79 Bronco is being reissued, it’d be nice to see MPC’s ‘80-86 Bronco hit the shelves soon again too. Last reissued under the AMT brand in the 2000’s and hard to find. Another that would be nice to see again is the Revell/Monogram ‘48-50 Ford F-1 pickup, I sure like Ford’s Bonus Built line. -

Sure thing Bob, I’ll PM you a video of the process here soon to better explain what I mean. -

I’ll take white into consideration, most I’ve seen have black bumpers though. As for the window trim Bob, that’s just brushpainted on. I did use masking tape for around the top and sides of the windshield though. The side windows and rear window were easy, just paint the trim black and then wipe a Q-tip over the parts that need to stay body color. Since the trim is recessed, straight lines are easy to achieve. -

Got most of the trim work on this knocked out. From what I’ve gathered, I think these pickups had body colored trim in between the boards in the bed, so it won’t be 100% factory stock. Although I think I’ll go through my parts and use a single round mirror on the driver side rather than using the west coast mirrors that come in the kit. I’m also leaning towards black bumpers. -
Saw a Mustang Mach-E in traffic today.
