Hey there, nice and clean build of a piece of Drag Racing history in scale. Regarding these 2% cars, Jim Schild writes in his book "MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE - Mopar Super Stock Drag Racing 1962 - 1969": "Among the qualifiers in S/S and S/SA (Super Stock) were the Ramchargers' 1965 Dodge; Tom Grove's 1965 Plymouth (Melrose Missile); ... Al Eckstrand's 1965 Plymouth (Golden Commandos); and Roger Lindamood's 1965 Dodge (Color Me Gone). The four 1965 cars were considered 2 percent cars because of the wheelbase rule for the class. These cars were actually hardtop bodies that had been chemically milled to lighten them. ... These four 1965 cars ran at the AHRA meet and the NHRA Winternationals and were then taken back to Detroit and given the full altered-wheelbase treatment. There was some confusion among the drag racing media writers of the time, who thought these were actually four additional cars." I don't think the bodywork on the rear wheelhouse was changed as extensively as the 110" wheelbase cars (= 12 % cars). From this video (4:14) is a nice side shot of Roger Lindamood's 2 percent COLOR ME GONE. I could imagine that the front wheelhouse area was "simply" cut away forwards by a corresponding amount, if it was changed at all. The axle was moved 2% forward and remounted on the leaf spring (altered leaf spring ?).

I love these '65 AWB Mopars. In particular the injected versions and the development from those years. Many years ago I had given up hope for a '65 Plymouth AWB and '65 Dodge AWB as an injection molding kit and in the meantime I have oriented myself towards 1/18 diecast models of Supercar Collectibles. I disassembled and detailed all of these '65 AWB diecast Mopars. As a pastime until the news of Moebius' 65 Plymouth AWB came. I now wish that ALL the decals for the 11 factory cars and for some private teams could be produced in good quality by the aftermarket companies. Slixx has partly started with it. In particular, I'm interested in authentic decals of the silver/red Mr. Norm Coronet. Alan from whoopiekatdecals had decals for sale for the silver/red version, but he's sadly gone out of business (I think). The Fred Cady decals are not necessarily my first choice when looking for authentic decals and they are just for the silver/blue version only.

I think the current global economic situation does not necessarily allow for the possibility of developing as quickly and effectively as we would like. Especially after the Corona period, the current russia war and its effects and current the rising interest rates on the capital markets, do not make things any easier. And finally, anticipation with all the excitement of something new (Moebius '65 AWB Dodge) is the greatest joy... and comforts us over the waiting time ...😄

I have no idea about the color names used, color codes or manufacturers with which these models were painted at the time. Even though these models were sold by Supercar1 I think Highway61, ACME or GMP are behind them as manufacturers. I don't know any contact with these manufacturers either. And if so, the question would be whether they would share this information. So now I turn to this great community and ask: Has anybody an idea or informations for the closest match about the blue tone of Lee Smith's HAULIN HEMI 1/18 Mopar AWB car? Due to the photographic implementation, the images do not show the exact color. Unfortunately, my technical equipment does not allow for better pictures, sorry. If you google for pictures of this model you will get a better idea of the exact color. While browsing through old drag racing magazines, a particular article caught my eye about the development of fuel injection. This article deals in detail with the fuel injection of the then (1965) factory Mopars. It might be very interesting and helpful if someone wants to recreate something like this on their models. Sometimes I'm just interested in what lines were used and where routed. Have fun while reading. Regards.

I also found sales offers from this period in other magazines for the Brande X BX10. It was probably a kind of glue for the tires to increase traction and was also used more often. Mmmhhh... I might have identified the appropriate sticker. Of course I could still be wrong. I think there is a high probability that it could be this one: I found some pictures in old drag racing magazines, please take a look for yourself: The Brande X BX10 decal on DAVE STRICKLER's car is also attached close to where (near the tire) the remedy is supposed to work... 😉.

@Mike Yes I agree with you. Some sponsor decals were often only visible on the cars for a few runs. However, I like the racing cars with the look like they were driven in real use, the more stickers the nicer for me... 😉. I've set myself this week as a time limit. If I had not found any further information by Sunday, I would not have paid any further attention to this sticker. ... But... I think I was on the right track and I may have found the right one. More on that later.... @Ron Many thanks for your suggestion. At the beginning of my search I also thought of these HURST shifter stickers. Since these were also often seen on these rear side windows or on the C-pillars. HARROP'S FLYING CARPET was an automatic transmission car. The individual driving levels were actuated by a lever on the steering column like the standard cars from the catalogue. In this respect they had no special shift levers from HURST or other suppliers. Mostly only the stickers were used, which parts were also only used.

Mmmm... On closer inspection I noticed another sticker which I can't identify. That will definitely be more difficult. I know you can't see (almost) anything in the picture. Maybe someone has a better picture of this sticker on the side window and/or an idea what it could be. And then we could start looking again ... 🤔

@Oldcarfan27 MANY THANKS for your support and the pics. Yes, the logo is not as well known as PENNZOIL or STP or ... 😉. After a few hours of online searching, I found this sticker as well: The Indian head was the key to identifying it. And only then did I recognize the name of the oil brand. I think with these templates I will now be able to create a nice decal for my project. Many thanks to you...

Dear community, for my project to build Bob HARROP'S FLYING CARPET '65 Dodge Coronet AWB scale 1/25 and 1/18 I need informations about a decal / sticker / logo (marked with a red circle at the pic) in round shape on the left and right side at the front fender of his injected car. Who can help / support me or know which sticker or which sponsor this could be? All other decals I have indentified but I have no idea about this decal at the front fender.
