  1. This thing is fantastic. Best looking 64 Olds I think I have ever seen. I have the convertible in the stash, I might have to add a hardtop after seeing this one
  2. Looks great! The texture on the seats is awesome!
  3. Awesome job! That vinyl top looks spot on, the whole car looks like it could drive off my screen!
  4. Absolutely beautiful! The white stripes look so good against that color
  5. Thanks everyone! @Yeah Nah that actually is how the kit is designed, but I agree it really cleans up the look underhood @Paul Payne the chrome strip was actually a precut strip from a company called Ultracal. They sell sheets of various widths and they come in quite handy, adhere well and shine like a mirror @espo they definitely aren’t traditional colors, but I figured it was worth a try and it turned out better than I hoped!
  6. This was built almost 100% box stock from the Lindberg “1938 Custom Ford Van.” It was really a fun kit to put together, and outside of a little tweaking with the rear end/rear suspension to make it sit level, it pretty much fell together. Paint is Jeep code PPT “Bikini Pearl Coat” mixed by my local body shop on top with Testor’s Extreme Inca Gold on the bottom. Duplicolor 1K clear shot from a can was wet sanded to 12000 with Micro Mesh and then polished with rubbing compound. Craft paints were used for the interior pearl white and tan, and the interior accents and chassis were also painted the Jeep Bikini color. The only thing that wasn’t in the box (other than glue and paint) was the Ultracal chrome strip used to break the two tone. The last two pictures show how different the top color looks in natural light. I highly recommend this kit to anyone, it was a very fun build.
  7. I’m so sorry to hear that your father passed…prayers and condolences to you and the rest of your family
  8. This is fantastic. As a fan of Derek and VGG, and as a fan of well built, cool looking models, I LOVE this build. Excellent job!
  9. Awesome build! In addition to the outstanding quality, I’m a little biased on your livery…I recently had an engine built by B&R! Really neat to see this in scale, especially done to this level. Excellent work
  10. Fantastic job on one of my favorite cars (and I believe most under appreciated cars) of all time. How badly I wish they would reissue the stock version of this kit!
  11. Speechless. Just…wow. Every build I see of yours leaves me with the same reaction. Excellent, excellent work.
  12. Thanks everyone. It really is nice to be able to share the hobby with her. I will pass along all your kind words to her and I’m sure they will make her smile ear to ear!
  13. They’re all beauties, but boy does that black gasser grab me just the right way. I might have to find one of those and try my hand at it. Unbelievable job as always!
  14. This was a father-daughter build with my oldest of 4 daughters. She will be 7 in April, and has really taken an interest when I’m building models and asked if she could build one with me. When I saw the box art for this, I knew I had to get it for her: we attend the truck pull together as a daddy-daughter date every year, her favorite color is pink, she LOVES pigs, and she is helping me restore a 1:1 square body Chevy. She wanted to keep it completely as the box art depicted. I did the heavy lifting, and she helped with painting and some easier assembly. The kit was pretty easy to throw together, the only fight was with the transfer case/skid plate alignment (which was probably caused more by me than the kit.)
  15. You always do such an excellent job on these GMT400 trucks. I always look forward to seeing them. Another beauty for the collection!
