  1. Chevy's reasoning, as I've heard it, is that the main market for the Vette is older gentlemen and they prefer a softer ride than coil-overs provide. So they have the mono leaf front and rear to provide the softer ride the target market prefers.
  2. It's not a mustang II, but the chassis and suspensions (front and rear) in the 39 Wagonrod are pretty nice. The 37 Ford kits previously mentioned are nice as well. I think that the Phantom Vickie is a mustang II "style" as the mustang II did not have tubular A arms.
  3. It's the same tooling. I can't remember if it had the customizing parts, though. It does have the engine stand and S.C.o.T. Blower and side draft carbs which is a pretty unique looking set-up. I think it came with a small flat screen tv and play station like video game controllers. There was a tiny alligator in that kit too, and some other goodies that I can't remember.
  4. Man! That is pretty slick! Makes me wanna go buy one of those kits!
  5. Because the only wheels included were the ridonkulous wheels. That being said, I did buy 2 of em, so I guess the joke's on me, LOL By the way, that "Pepper Shaker" box art is killer! I would have bought it just for the art!
  6. Don't forget the wonderful Boyd Coddington issue (Sarcasm intended). It still has a lot of the fun goodies, like the engine stand and alligator.
  7. Wasn't that maroon a close to factory Ford color? I do know that you "could get the Model T in any color you wanted as long as it was black," but didn't they offer a similar maroon color in like '34, or something? (---Grammar nerd alert--- Please note the the apostrophe goes before the 34 in 1934, since you are abbreviating the portion of the number before the 34...)
  8. The Rodder's Journal did a feature on "artillery" or "milk truck" wheels a couple of years ago. If I recall correctly (IIRC) the dry lakes and salt flats racers used them to "overdrive" their transmissions a little since they were larger than the stock passenger vehicle wheels of the time so they could get a little extra top-end speed out of their cars. Now, of course, they're purely aesthetic. They do have a cool retro look that I like. Jimmy Shine's 34 Ford has a one-off set he built...
  9. I wish they would scrap the old 72 Chevy Pick up tooling a tool up a brand new one, similar to the detail of the 50 Chevy Pickup. I would also like to see the 1933 Chevy Panel Truck rescued from Barnabus Vampire Van hell, but alas, it'll never happen... I'll also second the 71-73 Riviera. I still can't believe that there isn't one...
  10. I think it's a forward looking design. This is what the majority of the new Camaros will look like in 15 years parked behind the trailer in West Virginia. For the record I am from WV, so I can say such things...
  11. Wonderful detail painting, as usual!
  12. Man, great stuff! Isnt that green Ford truck from the show "Fast "n Loud"?
  13. This is an all-new kit replacing the old out of proportion 1/24th scale kits...
  14. Gas Monkey Garage on the show "Fast 'n Loud" did a pretty cool barn find type build where they left the paint all weathered just as it was when they found it the barn, but fixed everything else. I think that if I get one of these kits I'll build one like that.
  15. I haven't had a chance to see the show, but I miss Jessie from Extreme 4x4. I was never a real fan of Courtney or AJ. I always found the role they played in the show was rather a waste of time that they could have spent showing more of the building process.
  16. It all has to do with execution. If someone loads a model up with aftermarket and scratch-built parts, but it looks like garbage and another person builds a superb box-stock model, I would give higher points to the box-stock. It's ALL execution.
  17. That's looking really good! A little constructive criticism: you may want to consider making the rear spoiler a little thicker as it looks like it's kinda wavy. If you make it another layer of plastic thicker and sand/file it down to a "sharper" edge, it'll hold its shape better.
  18. Excellent news!!! Now, if only they would release a such a nicely detailed kit of...
  19. What's the difference between a geological engineer and a geotechnical engineer?
