  1. Thanks guys, here's a quick shot of it in the garage.
  2. Thank you, I do appreciate that. Huge Buick fan here too.
  3. My favorite is the '69, I will have another one some day. The orange one above has had a ton of work done the last year or so. It's not perfect but it's a great driver.
  4. Here's the real deal, And my version,
  5. Great job, thinking way outside the box! Love it.
  6. Beautiful work, the polar opposite of the '55 Gasser I did recently.
  7. Thank you, it's not the Badman kit. I wish I could find one. This is the Revell '55 Chevy that some say is the same body shell as the Badman, I modified the wheel arches and removed the side trim. I had started this kit years ago with the intention of going a different direction. Started building again and took another look and decided to go this route, I really enjoy the process of doing the patina and weathering.
  8. Just finished my second build after several years off, It's built as a barn find gasser that's been brought back mechanically so it could be used but the body shell has been left untouched.
  9. Yeah, I know but it looks cool this way. That's just the angle the manifold I had put them at so I went with it, That's the best part about scale models is that the build doesn't actually have to function.
  10. The Webbers were out of the parts bin, don't honestly recall what kit they were from. No, I built it as a semi-rat. Basically an old body with a newer chassis and driveline.
  11. Haven't even visited the site in a long time, here's my '32. I know it's missing the windshields surround, not sure where it went. The engine is just a bit of a made up job like most of the car is, wanted something different.
  12. You better stay away from the automotive forums then, they go horribly off topic on a regular basis It's threads like this that really bring a community together, you learn peoples other interests outside just scale modelling.
  13. How is it off topic? It's a thread about bikes.
  14. Thanks, The Raleigh is turning out to be the find or the century for me since I'm 6'6" it's really hard to find a used bike that fits me properly. I absolutely love the Peugeot and it rides like a dream but I'm just a bit cramped on it which makes long rides a chore, When I did the eleven miles yesterday on the Raleigh I had no idea I had gone that far until I got home and mapped my ride on Googlemaps. Did my normal short ride this morning which I just found out is a tick under four miles which is a nice quick ride. This is another Raleigh I got for free (can't believe my luck) that my eleven year old son has been riding, It's a 1984 Raleigh 12 speed and he stays right with me on it. This one needed nothing but air in the tires and a seat although I have now replaced both tires because they were the originals when we got it.
  15. New high dollar bikes are nice but you can get into a classic steel/aluminum frame 10 speed for under $300.00 for a really nice one. Here's my finally finished 1980 Raleigh Super Grand Prix, Just did eleven miles this morning on it. After this mornings ride I noticed the ancient front tire had finally given up the ghost so I picked up a new set of Continental road tires bringing my total investment in this bike to $60.00. This is my other bike, 1972 Peugeot UO8, I'm considering brining it to an upcoming vintage bike meet and see what it'll bring in the for sale corrall.
  16. Thanks, I'm really pleased with how it's turning out. Best part is I have a total investment of $25.00 in that bike now
  17. My latest project, a free Raleigh 10 speed of early '80's vintage. It's a monster, 35 1/2 inch standover!! Biggest bike I've ever seen and being 6'6" it fits me perfectly. As found, And now, just waiting for decals. All work performed in the garage at home And for perspective with my sons (also free) Raleigh 12 speed normal size bike.
  18. Very cool thread, I was riding a modern mountain bike (not happily) until my son found me a new bike at a garage sale for $10.00. I've done a bit of work since the pics were taken but it's an absolutely gorgeous 1972 Peugeot AO8 or UO8. I've also got an early '80's Raleigh 10 speed project bike hanging in the garage.
  19. Cool build, those are motorcycle tires and wheels correct?
