  1. Thanks Andy Cheers Andy
  2. Made a start on this one over the weekend. Just going for a mild custom look - nothing earth shattering just removal of the side trim & door handles, tube grill & lowered suspension. The Caddy hubcaps and tyres are from the Modelhaus & the tube grill is from Evergreen plastic rod. Unfortunately some of the chrome came off the bumper so I've had to strip it back with bleach so will have to break outthe Alclad. Planned colour is Honda Fresh Lime Metallic.I'll have to see if I can find some suitable headlight lenses in the spares box. Thanks for looking Andy
  3. Hi Hector, The tyres & rims are from a Galaxie 46-48 Chevy fleetline kit with 58 Dodge four bar hubcaps from the Modelhaus. Thanks for the kind words guys. Cheers Andy
  4. Hi all, got round to finishing this one Thanks for looking Andy
  5. Thanks Anne & sorry for the delay in replying. For the chop I started by cutting off the door pillars and then made two cuts A/B and then removed a slice from the rear pillars. With the door pillars gone I could then gently bend down the roof to meet the loweedr rear pillars. The resulting gap in the top of the roof was filled in with Evergeen plastic sheet and Tamiya Epoxy filler. The slanted door pillars C and rain channel were added with sheet plastic and the door line scribered in. I normally use Humbrol liquid cement. Hope above makes sense but this picture may help. The engine was sprayed with the same paint as the body through an airbrush. Cheers Andy
  6. Hi all, managed to get the chassis up on four wheels I've had to take some liberties with the suspension to get it too sit this low. Basically axles are just glued to the frame - not very pretty but then I don't plan on displaying it upside down !. Not too much more to do now so hope to have it finished over the weekend. Thanks for looking. Andy
  7. Thanks for all the comments guys, Tom, the tyres are from the Galaxie 48 Chevy kit, the rims are the steelies from the Revell 49 Mercury together with Modelhaus Dodge Lancer hubcaps - hope that helps. Cheers Andy
  8. Thanks Bernard & Glenn, porgress has been slow as I got sidetracked building a replica of my sisters Fiat 500 for her birthday in February but I have managed to finish the engine & interior and add the front windshield & grill. Next up is lowering the chassis !. Thanks for looking Andy
  9. Just a quick update on where I am with the interior and engine plus a shot of the body after polishing out the clearcoat Thanks for looking Andy
  10. As the weathers stopped me from spraying this weekend I had a dig around in my to do kits looking for inspiration iand dragged this one out of the pile (it's is the Model King reissue). I hadn't got a clear idea of what direction to take it in but I've always liked the roof line on John D'Agastino's Royal Emperor. Soo.... back to the kit pile looking for a suitable roof - the only thing that I'd got that seemed workable was the roof from the AMT 58 Plymouth Belvedere which has been reversed with the rear pillars built up from sheet plastic. Still a lot of blending in to do but this is how it looks at the moment. Thanks for looking Andy
  11. Thanks for the interest guys - much appreciated.I had hoped to get some primer on this weekend but we've had snow & below zero temperatures here since Friday so I haven't made any real progress except some more sanding of the body. John, here's some pictures from a couple of different angles Thanks for looking Andy
  12. As the weather this weekend has meant I can't do any spraying I've made a start on this one. It's the Monogram 41 Lincoln convertible with the roof from a Revell 48 Ford Coupe and the trunk from a Revell 40 Ford added. Still a bit of putty work to do but hopefully you can see the general direction it's heading. Thanks for looking Andy
  13. Hi all, thanks for the replies. I managed to spray the basecoat last weekend but I've only just got round to taking a picture. The colour is Peugeot Blaze Yellow metallic - Zero paints dry matt so I need to clearcoat it but it's been too cold this weekend. Thanks for looking Andy
  14. I did actually get as far as painting this one but had some etching of the plastic where the trim etc had been removed so nothing for it but to soak the body in brake fluid !. On reflection I've decided to use the stock hood so as to retain more of the Hudson styling. I've also been thinking about what to use for the taillights and decided to use the ends of the Pontiac grill from the Revell 49 Merc suitably thinned down and mounted vertically. Added bonus is that they have lenses that I can paint clear red. Thanks for looking - sorry for poor pic quality. Andy
  15. Just a quick update after a coat of primer Hope to get the colour coat on later. Thanks for looking Andy
  16. Thanks for the replies guys. Mike, I'm thinking of painting it peugeot blaze yellow which despite the name is a gold metallic colour. Tom, the body is just resting on the floor at the moment (I tend to do the body first for some reason) but I'm hoping to modify the suspension so it sits lower than the kit ride height. Cheers Andy
  17. Not much of a post but my new year's resolution is to try & build more in 2013 so at least it's a start !. So far I've taken a slice out of the "c" pillars In an attempt to make the roof flow more gracefully into the trunk (I'm not too keen on the "stock" chop) and slanted the "b" pillars. Thanks for looking and Happy New Year. Cheers Andy
  18. Thanks for the comments guys, Regards Andy
  19. Just a quick out of the box build - colour is Zero Paints World Rally Blue plus 1k clear. Thanks for looking Andy

    49 Mercury

This is one that I've had lying around for ages but only just got round to finishing (as a kerbside as I'd lost some of the engine parts). It's the Revell kit with Replicas & Minatures Buick headlights & sidetrim. The tyres are from the Galaxie 46 Chevy kit with Modelhaus Lancer hubcaps. Tailights are from the Revell 32 Ford 5 window and the paint is Zero Plum Crazy Pearl. Thanks for looking Andy
  22. Thanks for the kind words guys, much appreciated Andy
  23. Thanks for the kind words guys, I forgot to post this pic which is probably a better representation of the colour. Cheers Andy
  24. Thanks Bill, I can't remember the exactly what year they were for but the fender skirts were from Replicas & Minatures - I think probably 36 or 40 Ford. Cheers Andy
  25. Got round to finsihing this one up: Thanks for looking Andy
