  4. I have had the car finished for about three weeks now. Between two shows and a death in my wife's family, I just simply have'nt had the time to post the pics. I have misplaced my camera after a show saturday and cannot locate it. I borrowed these pics from a friend of mine's album from the last show we attended. So far the car has taken a top 15 at birmingham and first in closed wheel competetion in cookeville tn. I hope you all like it, and when I locate my camera, I will take some more pics and add them to the post. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask and I will answer them. Chris
  5. This is something I built for a friend of mine for his little girl's room. A box stock 2003 monte carlo kit decals are alps printed. The water decals were put on the body then cleared over. Chris
  6. This is a car that steve park drove back in 1996. This car I believe was only driven one time. The actual race car, the number and stripes were chevy red, not just plain red.The actual car also did not have the racing reflections decals, I just added them to dress it up a little more. I had an alps set of decals that were the correct color. They were done a very long time ago by a decal maker who is no longer aorund. The decals were not coated, and I was'nt aware that they were not. I had the car decalled, and waxed it, the colors rubbed off, so I had to redo the car. The decals are a combination of alps, wetworks, slixx, and powerslide. I have to thank matt mcnally for the hood decal. It came from a wetworks sheet. I had to cut a piece of decal film and spray it silver to lay under it to get the silver color. Chris
  7. Dave, Thanks for the info on the stand and the pics. I really appreciate it. Chris
  8. Dave, I also have a question for you if you don't mind. The stands that you make and use for your detailed builds. Do you have any sizes or measurments that you might pass along. I would like to make one myself to use to take pics with. Chris
  9. Dave, That si simply amazing, very beautiful work. Chris kauffman
  10. Thank you all once again for the compliments,They are appreciated. Promod, The best suggestions I can give. Get good refrence pics of your subject, and of course take your time.I have seen several diffrent builds of this car. Some used metallic paint and I went another route. The refrence pics I had were from daytona, and the car just did'nt look metallic to me. The early preview shots of the car were, but my pics did'nt look that way. I used solvaset to soften the decals and get them down. If you don't mind a suggestions/plug if you have'nt gotten a body go to jnsresin.com for your toyota body. You'll need to use an '06/07 monte carlo kit for the front, rear and passenger side windowThe rear quarters will need to be made from sheet styrene..The JNS body was made from a monte carlo body, and mastered by thad brooks. My car has a ford engine in it. They looked close enough to the refrence shots I could find of the toyota engine, so I went with it for just a shelf car. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
