  1. Hey everyone, I haven't been on in a while because of how sick my dad Ed was. He posted on the forum as 62ss. I was just letting everyone know that he passed away about a week ago from complications of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. He was quite the avid poster here and I know he was tight with some of you guys. It's been a long road and he's finally at peace. Thanks guys. I'll talk to you soon.
  2. Yes but the deficit has been breaking records for about the past 5 to 6 years. When the Obama administration entered office what did they really have to work with? Certainly not the surplus that Clinton left behind. There had already been hundreds of billions of dollars of bailouts handed out. Yes, handed out, not loaned. An unjustifialbe war in the middle east that is a money vacuum for the U.S. taxpayers. So basically what I'm saying Harry is if I hand you my debit card with -$200 in it, how can I get mad when it's in your possesion and the overdraft fees kicked in and now its -$236? Wasn't your fault was it? Absolutely not. Seems like a good analogy of what the current administration has gotten stuck with. So I'm sorry if automobiles seem trivial to me when every day young men and women are killed and mamed for a war with no reason. Send the troops back home we'll save a lot of money that way too.
  3. Hey Dad Happy Birthday man. I hope you get lots of cool models that i can rob parts out of. I couldn't ask for a cooler, more understanding father. I hope you enjoy your day Dad. By the way ice cream cake at your house this week?
  4. HAHAHA. I was thinkin' the same thing but I didn't wanna gloat about my Penguins too much. But I will talk as much trash on Marian Hossa as humanly possible... for the rest of my life.
  5. Dukesfan didn't say anything about the seller being a kid (as a matter of fact he said "guy"). And if this "guy" didn't wanna sell them for $.50 a piece all he had to say was no. Doesn't seem like rocket science to me. Good score Dukes. And by the way Jairus I hope we all get to become true modelers like yourself. Thank you for all the wonderful examples you've showed us on this message board thoughout the years.
  6. That's awesome !!! Great restoration as usual Bob.
  7. Nah same versions just the original has a huge box . Replicas and Minatures of Maryland makes the Buick side trim for the Merc. So it's not included in the kit in either packaging. I'm not sure but with this modelhaus version I think the Buick side trim may already be molded into the body. Tom can tell you for sure but I'm pretty sure thats correct. As a side note Reps and Mins makes lots of other cool stuff for the Revell Merc. Caddy batwing air cleaner, dash and knobs, interior door handles, nicer frenched tailights etc. etc. And if you've never used their stuff it's awesome and super easy to work with. Oh well now that I sound like an infomercial... BTW I'm pretty sure I told you in person at NNL East how nice it was but once again very nice Merc build there Tom.
  8. Yeah I thought that too. With the UTI student thing in his signature he'd have to be at least 18. Got no horse in this race 'cause Ive been hearing horror stories since day one and never wanted to deal with it. But if it was me that had lost out I believe I'd get together with the other guys that were ripped off and take the loss and lobby the admin to have him removed. Sounds harsh but one guy said a year and a half. And kevin's big claim is that he hasn't ripped anyone off just got backed up and in over his head. A year and a half IS a rip off Kevin!!! Hope you do whats right man cause I've seen people bend over backwards for you. Just remember if you're given an opportunity to clear your name and get everything straight that is was a blessing and not a priviledge. Some of these guys are beyond apologies. So if I were you I wouldn't post anything in the wanted or swap sections. Good luck.
  9. I've heard most of those bands Tommy. I always considered that stuff more alt-country than outlaw-country. Great stuff though. Aren't the Badlees a Pittsburgh based band? I think I saw them once when I was "stuck" going to see the Clarks (as a side note don't bother looking up the Clarks...You'll hate them) Are you into Ryan Adams and Jesse Malin? They're now closer to the alt than country but cool stuff none the less. And I probably wouldn't have know a lot of these guys if I didn't spend like 4 years working in a record store before my kids were born. Oh BTW check out Sodajerk I think you'll dig 'em. Later.
  10. I'm a huge George Romero fan so my favorite of all time is definitely the original "Dawn of the Dead". Lots more in no particular order. Edward Scissor hands Mother, Jugs, and Speed Evil Dead Trilogy The Longest Day The Hell fighters (Grossly underrated John Wayne classic) Thunder Road Departed Cape Fear (Both Versions) Night of the Hunter (Robert Mitchum at his creepy best) Shaun of the Dead Star Wars Series Slap Shot The Shootist Sea of Love Bad Boys (A young Sean Penn in a juvenile detention center...Awesome and brutal) Suspiria Halloween (Original ONLY ) Dead Alive L.A. Confidential On The Waterfront Airplane Escape from Alcatraz Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil The Grifters The Outsiders (if you haven't seen it please do) etc. etc. etc... Mark my turn to compliment you on your taste "Crossroads" is one of the greatest music movies ever. Strong performance by Ralph Macchio (yes, the karate kid himself) and I believe it was Steve Vai who he competed with in the amazing climactic guitar duel. Great great movie.
  11. Hahaha Steve. Yeah I thought it was strange he'd never seen one. I think the Herringbone ragtop I was thinkin' of was the Indy pace car. Man 20 years... That woulda put me in the 4th grade. What about you Steve? What grade were you in 20 years ago?
  12. Those Revell glue kits have actually been out closer to 20 years. Got one for Christmas from my Uncle Mike in December of 1990. And I have a Hot Rod Magazine Revell issue of a Yenko that is dated 1990 as well. If I'm not mistaken Revell also did do a ragtop. Pretty sure it was a 302 with the herringbone interior decals. Which were very nice if I remember correctly. Good luck man. Hope you find what you're looking for.
  13. '62 Pontiac 421 SD '64 Ford Thunderbolt '40 Ford Standard Coupe '65 Riviera '61 Impala Pretty generic choices but those are what I like. I limited the list to my top 5 in order.
  14. Luis, then where is it? I talked to Biggs about it at NNL East and he told me it's definitely coming out too. But I've been waiting for boxart, promo pics, Anthony's version of it, etc., etc, anything really? I really want this kit to bash into an '84 Hurst Olds and I think a bunch of us are just curious what the hold-up is?
