Believe it or not, we've been at it for 10 years now! Join us for another great get-together for modelers.

As always, our contest uses an entrant-ballot format, so everyone entering a model gets to be a judge.

This years' theme is "Class of '58" Any 1958 model year vehicle, any 1958 vintage aircraft or military vehicle.

28 contest classes, including "Out of Box-Bare Bones" for "ghost models" and kits built without any paint or detailing - A challenge to how cleanly you can build!

Seven "best" awards, theme award, and of course, the JOHAN Gold Cup Award, presented by Okey Spaulding of Johan Models, LLC.

Located in the air conditioned 4H Fairgrounds Pavillion, we provide a snack bar with some of the best eats you're likely to get at a model contest.

We also have a big model kit raffle going all day long, and in case you get bored waiting for the contest winners to be announced, Robb Shelby will be calling the exciting Gravity Drags at 1 pm.

    Driving directions:
From north or south take I-65 exit 68 to 46 east, then turn south on Indiana 11. From Cincinnati, come in on 46 west and follow it to Indiana 11 South. Just take it easy and watch for the signs. The 4H Fairgrounds are 2 miles south of Columbus on the right. Be careful crossing the RR tracks!

Pretty much the same as last year, we’ve kept the same basic format, but made a few changes. We’ve added a class, "Out of Box - Bare bones" (numbered 0 so the others stay the same). There are no large or small-scale classes, so all entries will be placed in the appropriate subject category. As always, we are going to let you, the contestants, be the judges. Each entrant receives a ballot, and will be instructed how to fill it out. You’ll just pick what you think is the best model in each class. Here are a few other basic rules:

    1. No first place winning entries from past SCIMA contests will be allowed.
    2. Entrants may choose class for “crossoversâ€, but the Contest Director reserves the right to move any entry to the proper category. All decisions will be final.
    3. There must be at least 3 individual entries to complete a class. Classes may be combined, added, or dropped depending on the number of entries.
    4. Only simple display bases will be allowed. Mirrors, short risers and turntables to aid in viewing are acceptable, but no huge, gaudy displays or laser shows, please.
    5. Registration ends at 12:00 noon. Judging does not begin until 12:30. You will not be given your ballot until then, so don’t ask for it ahead of time! This is simply to ensure that ALL ENTRIES are on the tables before you start judging them.
    6. Once the judging process has begun, THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO PICKING UP OF MODELS ALLOWED! Bring your penlights and dental mirrors!
    7. It’s just a model contest, not the Super Bowl! So relax and enjoy yourself. Anyone showing poor sportsmanship, lack of respect for the other entrants, their models, the contest staff, or the facilities will be asked to leave.
    8. S.C.I.M.A. and the Bartholomew County 4H Fair Board will not be held responsible in case of losses due to accident, theft or damage.

All modelers are welcome, from beginner to master. Come on over and have a good time!

Even Mom hasn't called me "Billy" in a loooong time! Let's leave that for Mr. Kingsley. I'm just a bill.

Yeah, this whole handle thing escapes me to some extent. As a great man once said, "I yam what I yam, and that's all what I yam"
I'll have to spend some time looking around, there seems to be almost too much going on to pay full attention to, so you may not hear much from me for a while, but if I see anything I feel I can comment on, I will. Thanks for setting this up, I hope it stays around for a long time.

Well, not ever having posted here, I can see that it looks a lot different than the HHMMB, but I recognize some names. My personal rate of adaptation to change is glacial at best, so I hope the differences don't put me off. It will probably take me forever to figure out how anything is done, so if I do a lot of really stupid things, please forgive my ignorance.

Haven't even figured out about the name thing, but in case Mr. Obvious isn't looking, I'm
