  1. I bought one a few years back and I can say it's GORGEOUS!
  2. No, that's a 4 door Landau. Beautiful car though.
  3. I am curious. Did the 69 Thunderbird have the bird emblem on the roof sail panels? I have an original kit and a brochure and neither show the bird. The brochure shows a "Thunderbird" script right behind the quarter window on both sides. The car is fairly rare. I have never seen one in the flesh. I have seen nothing but Town Landaus and Four Door Landaus. I'm not sure as to which direction to do mine. I'm enjoying your build, as usual, but you know me. I like replica stock.
  4. Magnificent!! I only hope my 1969 Jeepster comes out half as great.
  5. I'm speechless! Excellence in execution.
  6. I like that one. I want to build my dark red convertible, but the body and hood are two different colors, so back in the box it went. Since I have to strip it, I can work it over to my satisfaction.
  7. Bback in the 1990s, I developed a friendship with Ray Parsons of R&R Resin fame. Somehow I was able to get some decent resin pieces from him. In my stash I have both the 68 Coronet R/T and Charger R/T transmits from him, which I adapted the chassis and driveline from the AMT 68 Roadrunner/69 GTX, which I bought up when they were 5.00 kits. I have yet to complete either one, but I am thankful I have both, even though I would welcome a new tool 68-9 Coronet.
  8. If you seen the stash of AMT 63-67 Corvette coupes and roadsters I have, it would boggle the mind. I have MPC 67s, as well as Revell 67s and Monogram 65s and a 66 race car that I am converting into a stock 427 coupe. Those are my favorite cars.
  9. That is a great story. Thanks for sharing. I built one of those back in the day, and it was one of my favorite model kits. I have another unbuilt one, that I plan to do as the box art.
  10. I made my own tail lamps out of clear red styrene. The kit lamps were too small.
  11. The shark Corvette was a hot lick when I was a teenager. Like you, I have a lot of kits to do different variants of the car. I built the MPC kits with the metal springs in the front suspension back from 68 through the 70's, and I still have a 69 to restore. The AMT 70 and 71 corvettes from the 90s are also very nice.
  12. A few years back, I converted the Revell 67 Corvette Roadster into a 65 for a gentleman . I adapted the small block hood from an AMT 65 that I had in my stash. I posted pictures of the finished model. The model came out great, and I may do a 66 in the same manner. I used the AMT 65 as the guide, along with pictures of Paul's 65. The 63 through 67 Corvettes are among my favorite cars. I cannot afford a pristine 1966 AMT kit, but I can convert one of my Revell 67s. I like the kit, and bought several while they were cheap. As a matter of fact, I have several AMT Corvette kits from that era too. Good luck on the project.
  13. Beautiful build! I built one of these kits in 84, and its still on my shelf.
