  1. The actual movie car started life as a hardtop the builder Eddie Paul chopped the roof off and made it into a convertible did the same thing to the Grease Lightning car. Although my build the windshield frame does look a little tall compared to the one in the pics. Im just using what i have i could have gone the easier route and bought a AMT 49 Merc kit.
  2. Heres my latest project that im working on i built this particular kit i would say in 2007 as the Cobra 50 Merc just never got to finish it. So i was doing some brainstorming about building Craterfaces 49 Merc from the movie Grease. First thing i did was carefully removed the chopped roof and added a Revell 48 Ford windshield frame which was widened. I filled in the taillight housings with superglue and baking soda to make way for a set of taillights from the AMT 53 Ford Pickup which are the optional units that are 49-51 Mercury taillights. More progress to come stay tuned.
  3. John, I had those Mopar decals in my parts box if i remember correctly those can be found in the Revell Dodge Nascar kit that was released around 2000-2010 thats the number 8. The 62 Dart im working isn't a Johan kit its actually a Revell Revellion kit from 1967. The Johan 62 Dart was either a 2 door or a convertible never made a 4 door.
  4. To replicate the single exhaust system for the Challenger i used the exhaust from the AMT 71 Duster.
  5. Heres some updated pics of the Challenger.
  6. I pulled this build back out of hibernation after being stashed away for 4 years due to no inspiration. Last week i painted the body with Mr. Spray Chestnut Brown. I masked off the body painted the drivers door with Rust Oleum Harbor Blue, brushpainted the primer spots with Tamiya Liquid Surface Primer and sprayed Testors Dullcote to give it that flat, dull look.
  7. Some updates on the Dart it has paint at last the color is Rust Oleum Ultra Cover Gloss Almond.
  8. I've started on this build two years ago. It started out as a Revell Revellion Funny Car the kits dragster frame was brittle and crumbled up so i came up with an idea to Pro Street it. I filled in the gaping hole in the decklid since it won't be no longer a dragster. The frame is from a AMT 70 Coronet Pro Street the frame fits just right except had to trim a little material from the rear. The main roll bar hoop is from a Lindberg 64 Dodge 330 and the side bars are scratchbuilt and the snout bars are from a AMT Nascar kit. I'm still undecided on the engine.
  9. Its been awhile since i did any progress on the Challenger. I used Evergreen .010 x .030 rectangular styrene strips for the vinyl top moldings and seams i used Rust Oleum Textured Black for the vinyl top texture and used Dupli Color Sandable White Primer for the color. To get the F5 Rallye Red as close as possible I used Rust Oleum Sunrise Red. I scratchbuilt the side marker lights.
  10. Heres pics of the 1:1 car im replicating
  11. Heres the finished product it took me two years on & off but it paid off.
  12. I finished the Dart today the finished product will be in the Under Glass section.
