Aurora had cars like the James Bond Aston martin DB-5 , Studebaker Avanti, might be interesting to have them again . I know they were difficult to work with , but we have better adhesives as opposed to 1965 too

Ray, the shingles are individual and no , they're not tape . I guess I'm not familiar with the Stro-foam technique you mentioned . sounds interesting and at some point , I'm likely to try it . -

Thanks Gary, I'm doing what I can as supplies are all on Back order here . This will comprise what was the 900 block of W Grace street in Richmond Va when it's completed by adding a Toddle house and the old Stone lion which today is the VCU police department -
I agree with Gary McNutt here ! Seriously, YOU have a "Knack " for this sort of thing . You need to pursue it .

Eshaver replied to Eshaver's topic in Contests and Shows
David , I'm bringing a model of a former Amoco station that I did from a building here in Richmond Va , that unknowingly, I had idea had a twin . In this case , Bergland Chevrolet in Roanoke wanted to restore an Amoco on property they owned . The building I modeled was used in the re construction of the Amoco in Roanoke . Fr the first time ever , this model will be on display in Roanoke , along with the Crossroads Coffee house at this show . You betcha , I take pictures , usually lots of pictures . -

I've decided to make it to where the building can be shown without the front window . This will allow visitors to see the Upside down Christmas tree, food platters the owner had suspended off the ceiling that patrons comment on even today ! With anything needed to complete the front , I'm now spending time making fireplace chimneys on the side . -

Mobil, Texaco, Gulf, Shell and others....
Eshaver replied to House of 13's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If ya look close on the Left , I took a Willys and painted in authentic Black simply because Willys had few colors they actually offered the truck in at the factory . besides that , this Amoco station built in 1937 actually had such a truck in the year I show it , 1948 . Vehicles then were lucky to be complete as the Scrap drives took everything ! -

Looking back to vintage shots of the Village , one can see where the exterior Trim was either unpainted , or painted Black or in some cases White It wasn't until Steve turned over the operations to Mike Fleck ,about 1991, did exterior changes get made . My intention is to make this a tribute to Steve Dikos . or 1968 .... -

James , I say go for it . This coming from someone who has dealt with "Movie " cars . This much I will share . Usually the "Real deal " is a LOT rougher car than what you see on camera . I too well remember the Grease car . That car was ROUGH !!!!!!! -

I won't touch a project if I don't have appreciation for it . I did commercial work for several other state historical societies over the years . This building will actually be a part of a larger exhibit at Richmond Virginia's Valentine History center -
Very nicely done piece !
