  1. Fellow D.A.A.M. club members and I went to a show near Bay City and I scored a Revival Alfa P3, an IMAI '06 Mercedes, and a what looks to be a test shot of a JoHan '69 AMX. The AMX is lacking windows but I'm hoping I can score something usable at our show next month.
  2. When I started in on mine I attached the lower arms/ torsion bars first . My thinking was that the lower pieces had a definite fixed location whereas the upper arms didn't have that. But even that didn't help much as the wheel camber was excessive. So the unfinished model sits in the box.
  3. Not so much the coupe but more so on the sedans. The 4 doors do look odd with the higher roof.
  4. Different scales. No way am MG is bigger than a 300 Mercedes or a Jag.
  5. The only thing that dates it is the high cowl height.
  6. I've long thought that the 330/365 GTC was the prettiest Ferrari ever built.
  7. I'll prime if I've done any filling or puttying of parts where a join line shouldn't be visible. Otherwise ,no.
  8. Don't use the Tamiya thin glue to attach painted surfaces. That stuff will seep out of the joint and ruin the finish( guess how I know). I'd use it only to do basic assembly. Their thicker glue ( orange cap) works great for anything.
  9. I have a an old bottle of Future, easily 20 years old, and something is yellowing, either the Future itself or the bottle. So I'd say that, given enough time, Future might turn yellow.

D.A.A.M. presents its 61st show along with the 21st MotorCity Madness judged model contest on March 27th, 2022 at the Macomb County College Expo Center, at 12 Mile road and Hayes, Warren, Michigan. The $5 admission also covers entries for the contest- no limit. Over 300 vendor tables.
  11. I recall reading about the differences between the coupe and convertible bodies and then comparing my two kits. I saw how they were different but I had forgotten which one was off. Thanks.
  12. Congratulations on finishing that model. How did you manage to get the front suspension pieces to play nice with each other? That's what's holding progress on my build of this car.
  13. The D.A.A.M. spring show is March 27th, 2022 at the Macomb County Community College South Campus,12 Mile Road and Hayes in Warren, Michigan. 9 a.m to 3 p.m. Still only $5 admission which also covers the entry into the judged contest regardless of the number of entries for the contest. Over 300 vendor tables. Come see why many are calling our show the best in the region! The college is requiring a mask to enter the building.
  14. A fellow D.A.A.M member was selling off some kits so I got a Revell '69 Dart G.T.S., MPC '57 Chevy Gasser, Tamiya Raybrig NSX, Focus WRC car,and '72 Skyline hardtop, the first issue of the newer Revell '30 Model A coupe, and a Moebius '70 Ford F-100 4X4.

    1984 Z-28

Interesting. I've never seen an '84 with a clock on the console, only in the radio. I'll have to check my sales brochure.

    1984 Z-28

One of these years I'm going to build a model of my '84 Z-28. Mine has the H.O. engine so the dual snorkel air cleaner is coming from the Miami Vice Daytona kit(!). The '82-'83 kit console and dash need modification to do an '84- no clock in the console on an '84 and the dash air vents need altering( my car is a non a/c car).
  18. Being 1958 there's probably contact points in the control box. Heaven forbid that the point gap gets too big.
  19. I wonder if you bought an old can that lost pressure. Change the nozzle and if that doesn't cure the problem, yup, it's a bad can.
  20. I was going to suggest using pieces of old bed sheet.
