    Haven't built any nascar kits in a very long time. They were all from R/M. I know one of the differences is that AMT kits are 1/25 and R/M are 1/24. What else? Is one more detailed? More accurate? I want to build the Days of Thunder cars and I know they were issued by R/M. But I don't like that they were molded in color. Too hard to cover using lacquer, Lots of bleed through. So I was looking for alternatives.

    How do I go about editing my forum name? I no longer live in Illinois and I want to edit what is shown. I really don't want to start a new listing, that means I will loose all my info that is connected with my original log in.

    I've been looking for a group for the past year. Live in Cary but will be willing to travel to meet a bunch of modelers who want to share, and talk modeling. Don't get alarmed by my log in I no longer live in Illinois, don't know how to change it!!!!!!

    My bank has given up the practice of taking change, they no longer have a counting machine. I can take it to a supermarket where the machines there charge 10%. What about kids who save change in their piggy banks? Poor kids save their nickels dimes and quarters then lose 10% because banks don't want to deal with the coins.

    I have decanted duplicolor many times. I always reduce the paint with lacquer thinner to a consistency of skim milk. I always shoot clean thinner through my brush between coats. I allow about 20 min or so between color coats. Hope this helps.

    I finally got my interior, body and chassis to come together. I needed to trim the rear package tray so that the interior assembly would snug up to the body, (I'm using the resin interior) as well as the trimming I have mentioned before. Its been a chore so far but fun. I'm not a rivet counter so if its not 100% correct, big deal, I build for me. If I could figure out how to post I would. I'm also not computer literate so the instructions from the host make no sense to me. Keep us updated on your progress.

    Looking good Ray, I found the same issue with the interior and body, needed to sand the inside of the body to get it corrected. Havent shot color on mine yet, but all the sub assemblies are complete.

    Ray, If you are using the interior from MCW, make sure you spend a lot of time test fitting it. The interior bucket will be too wide for the dash. You will need to sand the floor so that once the side panels are glued on the dash will reach both sides. I'm still messing with mine.

    I use the zap a gap brand CA. the medium thick version for just about everything. For windshields and other clear parts I use canopy glue. If I have a long seam that's when the liquid cement comes out. With the CA I use accelerator. I was building for AMT and needed to get kits done quickly for their schedule, that why CA is used. the canopy glue dries clear does not yellow and can be tacked up for adjustments. It also can be cleaned up with water.

    I'm building the same kit as we speak. Mine will be a sleeper with the R/M 396 from the 66 Impala. I don't think the rear bumper will work from the 66 Impala kit. It has 3 taillights where the biscayne only has 2. I have already shot both bumpers with alclad and they look ok. The R/M chassis fits fine.

    The convertible kits come with dual exhaust set-ups. The sedans have single exhaust.
