  4. Couple of more pics [ My thanks to my lifetime mate Phil for the hours he spent drawing the Scuderia Veloce shield and producing the decals for me Ciao Dave
  5. I've finally finished my conversion of an old, pre-built, Heller P4 coupe into the 350 CanAm as run by David McKay's Scuderia Veloce down here in Aus. It's a fair representation of the car as I saw it raced at Longford back in March '68, not perfect as I haven't included the spare wheel vertically attached to the tail!! and a few other minor errors, but aesthetically I like it. The real car started life as a P4 spyder, chassis #058 67 but was converted for the CAn Am series into the 350. It was procured by Scuderia veloce and raced with some success down here before racing in South Africa by Paul Hawkins, as Team Gunston. It has just this year been converted back to a P4 spyder, no prizes for guessing what the unbuilt Union P4 is going to be converted into!!! Couple of more pics to follow, thanks for looking Dave
  6. That was a good pick up Randy, it looks great Dave B
  7. Have done a little more work on this one. It's not dead accurate but is a reasonable likeness of the 350 as raced by Scuderia Veloce in Australia, complete with headlights but minus the spare wheel which was attached vertically to the rear above the exhaust pipes. I have yet to complete under the 'bonnet' and the interior. It's painted white to allow me to see the faults. Tks for looking. Dave B
  8. This is looking really interesting, have built the Gunze coupe but shirked at the thought of attempting the transporter!! Dave
  9. Tks guys, will update as works progresses Dave
  10. Many years ago, when a young tacker, I built a Heller P4 Ferrari. It was sprayed in a dark red (maroon) and I even cut the bottom off the front tyres to get it to sit right. Luckily I matured, found a Union re-release, yet to be built, and confined the old Heller to the dark cupboard. As I have started a collection of Ozzie Group 7 style sports cars I decided to rebuild the old P4 into the 350 Can-Am as raced by Scuderia Veloce here in Australia. I was lucky enough to see this car race at Longford in, if I recall correctly, 1967, so armed with the Motor Racing Replica News article and web photo's I have started. First task was to copy the Union tyres and cast them in resin. Next I cut the rear, shortened it and using plenty of styrene formed the rear engine cover. I used a Patto's vacform as a basis for the snorkels and also cast a mould for the windscreen. I have started on the nose area and this is where I am at the moment. I have yet to instal the headlights and then need to consider the interior. The finished item is probably still a few months off as I am also building a pair of Elfin 400's. Tks for looking Dave
  11. Nice build Jason, congrats!! Dave
  12. That's a different livery Karsten, I like it Dave
  13. That is spectacular, nicely done. Do agree about the screen however Dave
  14. Converting a Heller P4 to the Scuderia Veloce 350 spyder!! I will get the plans off you however and thanks for the Elfin decals!!! Dave
  15. Tks guys, comments appreciated. The Frank Matich ran the SR3R in about 5 Can Am races, the Elfin you wouldn't have seen over there Dave B
  16. I have always been a fan of the 'big banger' sports cars and decided to have a go at scratch building some Aussie icon cars. I previously built the Matich SR3R and have just finished the Elfin Traco Olds, as raced by Neil Allen prior to installation of a Chev V8. It is based on a slush cast of an Elfin 400 mould I have. It's a curbside only and all parts are resin or scratchbuilt. Just a pic of the Matich & Elfin together. Time now to start Bob Jane's Elfin 400 Repco. Thanks for looking Dave B
  17. That's a great save of a very ordinary kit!!! Dave B
