  1. Asked this on another board but did not get a response. Can you use regular flat white or grey paint as a primer? Or does primer have ingredients in it that regular paint does not have? Tia.
  2. Has anyone built this kit? The instructions call for the front lower valance to be installed after the chassis/interior is inserted into the main body. Just curious if I can go ahead and glue this piece to the main body so I can fill the gaps and paint it as one piece. Would I then be able to fit the interior into it? Also, would the Hobby Design P/E set designed for the Fujimi GTO work with this kit?
  3. Just read in today's Newsday that Dave Merklin of Dave's Hobbies in Freeport passed away on March 26th. He was 79. He was in a nursing home in Rockville Centre for the past 3 years. Loved going through all the goodies in his store.RIP Dave.
  4. There is also Willis Hobbies on Willis Avenue in Mineola. Have not been there in years. I remember they were on the expensive side.
  5. I went to Dave's on Atlantic Avenue in Freeport a few times. That shop was also unorganized. Lots of merchandise though and the prices were not that bad from what I can remember. I'm pretty sure it's no longer in business.
  6. Perfect description of the hobby shop Richard. When my wife and I would come up from Florida to visit her Mom in Bay Shore(Newbrook Gardens)I would sneak away and stop in the store. I would only buy supplies that would fit in my luggage. There are a TON of kits there. I was always nervous to move them around looking for the one I wanted.
  7. Ooops, that should read Felway Drive in my post above.
  8. Welcome Chris. I live in Florida now but I'm from Long Beach. My wife has relatives on Fenway Drive in Coram. She's from New Hyde Park(home of Umberto's, the best pizza on Long Island)
  9. I heard that all 48 tables were sold plus 3 more were added. Hoping for good weather and a good turnout.
  10. I believe that initially there were going to be 48 tables, now i heard there are 51. I have one of them. Hope there will be a good turnout.
  11. I posted something in the Trading Post section and after awhile it was gone.
  12. Last bump from me. Don't let the weather report prevent you from coming down to the swap meet/contest. Lots of tables with lots of goodies on them.Something for everyone i'm sure.
