  1. I could swear somewhere I saw a posting that listed a website that had a lot of kit instructions on it. Does anyone happen to know of this site?
  2. Nice builds Ron. Have not seen you posting that much any more. Nice to see you are posting again.
  3. That Pontiac is really nice. Your detail is out of sight. That opening trunk is a neat feature.
  4. Wow, that looks super. It was sure worth the time you took to build this one.
  5. That really looks super. If that is a quicky I can't imagine what you would turn out if not a quicky. That paint and detail is awsome.
  6. Here are a few photos of the Johan's before I started. They were really not too bad before I started, but a little freshing up sure helps them out. And here they are all stripped and ready to go. Wow, was that a lot of stripping. I have the Road Runner, Cadillac and Chrysler completed. Still have a few more to go.
  7. I have been busy lately rebuilding several older Johans. These were kits that my son and I built over 25 years ago. He was smart enough to hang onto them and he sent them to me to rebuild. It was nice to redo them and have some of the advantages of today's upgrades like BMF, Alclad and airbrush paint jobs. These were very simple kits, but the exterior details were very good. Can't say much for the interiors or engine compartements.
  8. Amen, that is really nice. Your detail is amazing. Those photos on the wall must be pretty small. They sure add a realistic touch to your display.
  9. Hey Brian you have a super nice website there. I really like that Thunderbolt and that 65 Chevelle is pretty sweet. Your photos are very nice. Do you have one of those photo tents?
  10. The 57 Chevy convert is something I built using the AMT 57 kit and the uptop from the Revell 55 convert kit. Had to stretch the top quite a bit to get it to fit. I started using that table because I can sit down to take the photo. Getting to old to get down on the ground to take those shots. I have to holler at the neighbor to help me get up. (LOL)
  11. First I really want to say how much I enjoy this new section. Great to see all the super builds you folks a turning out. Here are a few of my recent builds. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/purvissp1/im...esummer2006.htm
  12. Hey Dan, I am honored that you like the '56 Ford well enough to photo. I have have also been going up to the Silent Traffic Model Club for the last 3 months. Sorry I did not get a chance to speak to you at the last meeting. I drive 70 miles one way to go to this meeting and it is well worth it. There is a really good group of talented builder there. It is a trip well worth making if you are near. Here are a couple of links to some photos and info on the club. My son is driving over from Cleveland next month to go up to the meeting with us. Hope to see some of the other forum members there. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/purvissp1/images/Trappe.htm http://mywebpages.comcast.net/purvissp1/im.../Trappe0906.htm
  13. That is an amazing build. That looks as though you could just crank it up a scream away.
  14. Looks great. Like those hubcaps and you did a nice job on those whitewalls.
  15. I would also like see a section to post more photos of completed builds. Nice to see others build to get an idea of how a kit looks build up and some of the super builds other turn out.
  16. Wow, that looks super. Hope you get it done for Toledo. Can't wait to see the finished build.
  17. Have not been around for awhile. Looks like some folks have been pretty busy turning out some super builds. Here is an AMT '63 Vette I just finished. Basically box stock except for the wheel covers I picked up from Modelhaus. I built this one as a non-fuel injected to be a little different. Hope you like this build.
  18. I have just found some news about Lindberg model kits. I don't know all the history, but Lindberg kits had been owned by Craft House, which was very hard to find or get a hold of and when you did they were not very helpful. Today I found out that all the Lindberg kits have been sold again to Hawk Model Co. I did call them today about a missing piece in a 66 Chevelle kit I recently purchased and 1. they very easy to reach and 2. they seem very willing to help me out to get the piece I need. Update, they did send the chrome tree from the '66 Chevelle kit. It came within a week of my contact with Hawk. They have just purchased the Lindberg line and are still kind of in transition, but seems like they may be a breath of fresh air for the kits. They are located in Cedar Rapids, Ia, phone 319-390-8888 and their website is; http://www.hawkmodels.com/hemi.htm They said they are a manufacturer and distributor for the kits and will not be selling directly to the public, but at least it is nice to know that the kits will still be produced. I see they are also to company that makes the 1/4 scale Hemi engine. I am looking forward to finding out what else they will be making. I told them on the phone I sure wish they could get a hold of some of the old Johan kits to repop. Boy would that be great. (dream on) It does not look like they have the Lindberg line on their site yet, but they do have a link for model kits. They do have a news letter that you can subscribe to. Thought some of the rest of you folks would like to know this and see what they come up with in the future
  19. This is another rebuild I just finished. Well, just about finished. I am still waiting for hubcaps, not sure if I will use the 64 dog dish or full wheel cover. I really like these old Johan kits. They are very simple builds, but they build up and look pretty good. This one is painted MM Guard Red inside and out. Hope you like this one.
  20. This was my first and probably my last resin kit to build. This thing was a fight all the way. First I ran into the problem of 2 different issues of the Lindberg 61 Impala, which is the doner kit for this build. Well wouldn't you know, my luck I got the wrong issue the first time and found the problem when I started building this one. Well I bought a second donar and went back to work, fit was much better. Using the 5 minute epoxy and super glue to get things to stick was a pain. Then when I did the body drop the chassis would not even come close to going into the body. At this point had nothing to loose so I took out the Dremmel and ground the hxxx out of the chassis and interior tub. Finally got the thing to fit up in the body. After this build you will not here me complaining about bad styrene kits. The worst fitting, flashing AMT kit would be a joy verses this thing. At least it's done and I can put away the 3 bashed kits to build this one. This was an attempt to replicate a car that I remember from my teen years. Back in Iowa a fellow bought this 61 409 dual quad new and another fellow bought a 62 Catalina 421 tri power. Each week these guys would run them hard at the local 1/8 mile strip. The hole shot usually determined who one. These were very impressive cars in their days. Hope you like this one. There were a couple of times I thought this one was going to Jello and let him salvage it.
  21. That is one nice Chevelle. 66 and 67 are my favorite years for Chevelles and you have done a super job on this build.
  22. Just finished this one up in time for a little ride with the AC on full blast. No hot rod, but would probably get down the road OK with the 454. This one is MM British Racing Green inside and out. This was the low rider kit, boy those tires and wheels in that kit are awful. I picked some tires out of my parts bin and used some ralley wheels I cast. Think this looks a little better. Hope you like this one.
  23. Mike, that is some awsome work. There is an amazing amount of detail in that garage. You must have good eyes and very steady hands to do work like that. Keep us posted on your additions to the shop.
  24. That is one super nice build. Those NASCAR kits have so much detail and small parts and you did a super clean build of this one. I also really like your decal work. Decals really give me fits and I avoid them when I can.
