I did this one as a mockup for an article for my local club's quarterly newsletter. They're pretty versatile lil' guys!

This is off to a nice start! Just my personal $.02: I'd shorten the bed a BUNCH, so that it just barely hangs past the rear spring crossmember. Kool build; looking forward to more progress.

HOLY ######!! That engine detail is astounding!! You just raised the bar about 6 notches there, Steve. EXCELLENT work!!!

Thanks, Bill! I had already done some research on the Tri-Five chevies, as I own a 1:1 '56 2-door hardtop. Thus, the '56 is near and dear to my heart.

    '56 Chevy convertible kitbash project
A while back I did a '56 Chevy hardtop conversion, so I figured I'd do a convertible too. This uses the front half of a '56 Nomad, the back half of a '56 sedan, and the beltline, cowl and windshield from a '55 convertible. With careful measuring and cutting, the only other mods necessary to do this conversion are to make pie-cuts in the tops of the '56 rear quarters to align them with the '55 piece. You can see this in the photo of the rear window area. Thanks for looking!

Thanks, everybody! Wow, I had never actually seen one of Norm's '41 castings. That is GORGEOUS! Anyways, I'll have update pix as soon as I make some progress on the fadeaway fenders. I'm getting jazzed about this project now; maybe I'll actually finish this one(?!)

'41 Ford Kustom on the bench...UPDATED PIX 10/29/06
This is a kitbash of a Revell '48 Ford convertible with an AMT '41 Ford woodie to create a '41 convertible. The top is chopped about 3 scale inches and it uses the Carson top from the '48 kit. The front end uses frenched headlights from an AMT '57 Ford. I sanded down the '41 grille to make it into a bullnose, then added the custom grille insert from an older issue of the AMT '36 Ford. The Caddy bumpers came from an old AMT Parts Pack. Thanks for lookin'!

Here's a couple of pix of the beginnings of fadeaway fenders. I built these using body sides from a Testors Chezoom kit. The wheels and tires came from a Road Rats diecast; I like 'em so much I might just use 'em!

That's looking great! Is it a resin or a kitbash?
  12. randfink added a post in a topic '36 Ford kustom koupe UPDATE pics...

Hey Daniel, warped minds must think alike, 'cuz I was thinking the very same thing about the exhaust tips. These were just some quickie mockup photos I shot with some tubing jammed in for looks.

'36 Ford kustom koupe UPDATE pics...
Bodywork is mostly done, got it in primer. I'm still hackin' on the chassis (no laughing, Mr. Stansfield!) and I think I might actually finish this one 'cuz it doesn't hafta be painted! And for those inquiring minds who wanna know, the wheelcovers come from the Revell Ed Roth '56 Ford pickup.

Collin Surbert's chopped and channeled '36 Ford coupe with a '40 nose, raised and radiused front fenders and raised and widened rear fenders with flush-mount skirts. Thanx fer lookin'!
