  1. Modern day standards limit bed width to 102 inches before oversize permits are required, so I wouldn't go any more than 102 millimetes with what you build. Vintage trucks might be slightly narrower, say 8 feet even. The choice is yours
  2. Wasn't there an issue of this kit that came with a half-cab and snowplow? Or am I thinking of a different kit?
  3. Does anybody know if there was a particular production run that can be identified by serial number that has the missing parts tree? I have one of these kits in my collection and would prefer to keep it sealed but am worried that it might be one of the ones missing pieces.
  4. Love the level of detail you have put into this build! One thing I have to mention though, the part you painted to represent the washer fluid reservior is actually the coolant overflow bottle and should have orange fluid in it to represent the extended life "Dexcool" antifreeze. The washer fluid bottle is hidden behind the front bumper on these trucks, if you need any reference photos I would be happy to shoot some of my 1:1 truck for you.
  5. Oh I fully intend on building it, but should it be cast in resin first? Is anyone interested in this engine anymore?
  6. So I was digging through an old, unfinished model from when my father was a teen and what do I find? Its the Astro kit that came with the turbine engine option. All the pieces still seem to be attached to the tree and the intructions are there for it too. Now the question is what do I do with this treasure?
  7. Well that was easier than I ever expected it would be! The wheels featured in the magazine looked by far head and shoulders above the rest, I can't even imagine how they could be done any better but I will take your word on that. Any contact info you could provide would be great, thanks Ben.
  8. Many years ago (early to mid 90's) in another magazine's "truck stop" column there was a resin round-up of the available 2 hole Budd wheels. I recall that the best wheel at the time came from a "Ben's model parts." I can not find anything as to what happened to this caster over the years, just wondered if anyone knew of the fate of these wheels? did the molds go to someone else or are they lost forever?
