  1. I am semi-retired myself and eyesight is going ....lots of detail painting made me appreciate the fit of the parts, lots of work but I love the results! The only thing that I did in the way of body work was to give the clear body a coat of future before beginning and another after the decals were on, that's it! Clear as glass and shows off the time I tool to paint the details. Although the photos reflect the light so as not to show the details, here are the engine assembly b4 as well as body before decaling.
  2. Totally "Ultra Cool" .... I love the lines of this car, great job!
  3. Been a while but I built this recently as box stock. I must mention on how impressed I am with the Tamiya kit fit and finish, both top rate making this build less frustrating. There were tons of small parts to paint and detail, but I thought it came out looking pretty cool.......
  4. more of us here should be as creative...good "Show"!
  5. OOooPrettyyyy!! I like the blue one, the Mulligan and the Freight Train! Awesome builds!!!
  6. No idea what year the real wheels hot wheels were made..the kit was pretty good to assemble for an old kit.....glad you all like it! Thanks!
  7. Wow, thanks so much! That was a quick one! It makes it easy cause the kit is molded in "semigloss" black styrene!
  8. A while back I bought the 1/64 Hot Wheels car and decided to pop on the 1/24 Doyusha kit when I saw one. Here is father and son........
  9. I am just getting ready to start a Tamiya Toyota GT-One TS020 Full View kit and was going over the paint instructions. There seems to be a paint indicator missing in the listing of colors to be used on the kit. In the instructions it shows X-18 , but it is not listed anywhere on the paint indicator list. Being as this is my first Tamiya kit, I have no idea what color it should be.....can anyone help??
  10. Between a stock Revell 57 chevy buildup or a Zinger 57 chevy build up.....while sitting on your desk at work, which one ya think is gonna get more attention as folks walk by?
  11. Here is my version that I built a few years ago. It's just a bit over the edge, but you get the idea of how versatile you can get with this kit!
  12. Ultimate Cool! Digging the t-bird bubble top, paint and undercarriage details! NICE JOB!! In the immortal words of Ruby Rodd "UNBELIEVABLE!"
  13. Yeah, it's a great kit! There were no problems at all with build up due to casting. Here is my version.
  14. Thanks! If you are talking about the air intake grillwork on the body below the windshield, I tried some detailer black wash. Because the actual detail is so shallow, it just made that area look dirty instead of like grillwork. So I washed it off and called it a day.
  15. This is a replica of a truck I drive for my job. It is Revell box stock with custom made inkjet decals. No paint, just Future as a clear coat. Nothing fancy, just my first stock truck. Comments welcome as always!
  16. Impressive build quality on this one! Great looking car!
  17. Looks pretty good Matt! Nice job on the back end fill...that part makes it look much smoother than not filling that seam! I Love the flocking! What did you use for it? For the bubble tops, try dipping the canopy in Future and letting it dry. It makes the glass look thinner and clearer!
  18. Freaking Awesome build! I absolutely am in love with the stance!
  19. I didn't see any answers on this thread till after I finished the build.....but.......thanks for ALL the information as well as the reference pics, they will be of great help in the future!!
  20. Wow guys, thanks a lot for the great comments! I was hoping that I did good on the wiring n stuff. Glad you all liked it! I still have the Ghost Cuda as well but was thinking on trading it for a custom show rod kit of some kind. Save for the body it is identical to the Ghost Charger, so the build challenge is kinda a moot point.
