MCM Regular (3/6)

  1. LOVE the 50's cars with the "Rear View Mirror" off the top of the dashboard. Marty
  2. From one "door car" lover to another, all I can say is WOW! I'm gonna love watchin' this one come to life. Marty
  3. Evening All- I'm lookin' to replocate one of Grump's Monza's. The attached shot is from way back when (approx. 1978) at our local track in Northern, IL. (which is still running Bracket cars to this day, but NOT drawing any match race stuff over the last 15 years), Grump is on the extreme RIGHT & I'm on the extreme LEFT. I'm going to need just about EVERYTHING. Any help & suggestions will be appreciated. I love this car! Thanks....Marty
  4. WOW! The BOYS up in Flint, MI should be looking at this model! I own a 63 SWC and would just love to add one of these to the stable. GREAT work and much more imaginative than the GM design studio personal. I'd like to see more shots of this car. Marty
  5. AWESOME build! Shepherd was a GREAT driver, miss seeing him in action. If ya got hte time build 2 of those 82 Pro-stockers, it would make a great X-Mas present! Marty
  6. Not to steal anything form the previous post regarding the Pro-Mod truck but has anyone out there built a NHRA Pro-Stock truck replica? I've been a NHRA member for a little over 22 years and like Pro-Stock cars alot but could never get into the truck thing. I only watched them cause 'Da Grump" was involved for awhile. Any comments? Marty Pictured below is Grump & 1 of 2 Monza's he brought to Byron Dragway in Byron, IL. back in the mid 70's for some weekend of match racing. He's on the extreme RIGHT & I'm on the extreme LEFT. Ahhhhhh, those were the days! DYNO DON, GLIDDEN, MOTOWN MISSLE, W.J. they were all there.
  7. DAVE- Every aspect of this car, literally every nut & bolt is spectacular! Truely a work of art! 1/8 scale is your choice of scale, but have you ever seen or dabbled with 1/4 scale, especially the 1/4 scale radio control drag cars that are out there? Those baby's are somethin' else. Like I said in a previous post, I look forward to every up date that comes along. Thank-you for sharing all of your knowledge, skills and time, they're much appreciated! Marty (P.S. What color is the "Long" car going to be?)
  8. DAVE- I really look forward to each and every post here with you. I too was a Drag Racer back in the late 60's early 70's and remember cars like this vividly. I ran a door slammer but still enjoy the "long" cars! Approx. how long did it take you to machine one of these wheels & roughly what is the wheel thickness & diameter? Marty
  9. WAYNE- Wow, thahks for all the help and insight, I appreciate it. I've located the Ken Schrader Slixx decal sheet that you spoke of, I ordered the Slixx W.J. olds decals, I'll be getting my hands on an diecast Olds Cutless from a friend in a week or two, so I guess the last on the parts list is that hood decal. I would like to get my hands on that one you have so if you can PM me with what you need for that, I'd appreciate it. THANKS again for your help and advice! Marty
  10. COOL Jason- Thanks for your intrest to help, I apprecite your time! Marty
  11. JASON- I need the AC DELCO decals, not the GM PERFORMANCE PARTS decals. Maybe I missed something on the SLIXX web-site. Do you have the part # that references back to the SLIXX's "AC DELCO" decals? THANKS....Marty
  12. Hey Guys- I'm looking to duplicate WJ's Olds "A.C.Delco" Pro Stock car (in diecast form) from back in the 90's. I've yet to find a company that reproduces the decals for this car (see attached). I'm looking to this knowledgable forum and it's members to point me in the right direction. Anyone out there that can MAKE these decals for me and what would the cost be? THANK-YOU....Marty
  13. Well it took awhile but here's what I came up with after just joining this board a couple of months ago. I want to thank all of the people out there who came to the aid of this novice when I asked for pictures and help, THANK-YOU all! This was a 2005 Grand Am diecast 1/25 scale model converted into the 2002 version, W.J.'s first Grand Am. No details were added by me for the reason I wanted to match the other W.J. factory produced diecast cars in my collection. Marty
