Sure Bob.......from Michaels arts and crafts store you need: "folk art" brand black acrylic paint and dark grey acrylic paint .....they cost around 89 cents each.......first I sand the flat part of the slick with 320 grit sand paper and then go over it again slightly with 800 grit sand paper......then I paint the whole tire with a couple of diluted coats of the black paint......I let it dry for about an hour........then I apply the decal with the red micro set solution.....I let that dry for another hour....... then diluted with water I paint over the sidewall of the tire with the dark grey paint.......you want the paint diluted good ......you can put as many coats on as you like ......I put around 5 coats.......I let each coat dry ......I usually do this on a hot day......after the tire is done and dry and you like it.......I airbrush the tire with dull coat for protection......you don`t need to but I like to do it.......hope I helped you?.....thank`s John
  2. Hello......this is another resin body I bought from Ebay,,,,,,,I reworked the body so that the driver sat to the right........scratch built frame using reference pictures......wired and plumbed......added a driver......H.O.K. kandy apple red......slixx decals.Thank`s

Thankyou everyone for your warm comments.......I really take them to heart.......I have always had a passion for models as a kid....especially drag cars......I do compete at model car contest......but when I get comments like this from you guys.....it feels better than winning any kind of award.......I thank you all so much.

Warren.....thank you for nice comments......I do have reference pictures that I used to make this model and one photo shows the blower hat backwards ......I will post the picture......I would be honored to make you a model ......I have made the "wagon Master" for Tommy Ivo.....and the Chuck Poole wheelstander for Mr. Poole........If you are interested I will give you a fair price ......I would just need to have good reference pictures of the chassis and engine detail......I only had a few pictures to go buy.......the more photos I have the better the model will be........P.M me and I can send you pictures of some of the work I do......I would like to get a autograph from you if possible......Thank`s John

Harry.....nice picture......I also made that version of the bug......I`ll post it soon......I really don`t know why they ran the blower hat backwards......but it was like that in the reference pictures I used......I also made the "Color Me Gone" charger f/c......it also ran with the blower hat backwards.......when I made these cars I had to take a second look to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me.......maybe someone knows the answer????
  15. Some drag cars ran the blower hat backwards in the 60`s........this one did,but didn`t run very good. This is a 1/24 scale.thank`s
  16. ModelMartin......thank you for the kind words......I have purchased 4 of your funny car bodies last year and made 1 already......I made the 32 roadster f/c......and entered it at the Citrus Nationals cal. last year and was picked by "THE Bunch Bro`s" pick......I will post soon.

Hello......I started with a resin body and decals that I bought off Ebay.......removed the spoiler on the roof......I used the Wild Wille Borsh chassis......scratch built tins.....scratch built rear spoiler.......wired and plumbed using reference pictures......H.O.K. candy apple red with black fogging.

Hello......I started with the Polar lights Blue Max body......changed the nose and the rear end......I used the engine from the Big Al Allison f/c kit......scratch built frame,tins,and exhaust pipes......a lot of scratch built parts......wired and plumbed using reference pictures......rub on letters for the lettering ......all graphics airbrushed .....Protech braided line,gauges and T`fittings.H.O.K. silver,pearl purple,kandy tangerine and black........paint by Molly and Fancy Jazz decals made by "Fuelishspectator" and the little cowboy decal made by the "Dragmaster"
  19. Chris.......I used a very thin computer board tape,that I bought at a computer store.......I also use it for masking off paint jobs.....it cost around $1.50 a roll ......last a long time.
