Thanks guys. This is a special project some parts are chromed already and others not....ether way I ether have to come up with plated parts in the colors or figure out how to do it myself..? I need everything possible with the gold/brass color plated look on it. Will be a prince coach on steroids the more wild and ornate the better for it.

You should be able to use any of the Testors clear lacquers over it.
I know for a fact that it will not damage the plastic, but as I use almost no decals of any kind, I can't tell you with certainty that it is safe to use over your decals.
Steve
Thanks Steve and everyone else....Ill try the model Lacquer clear coat and see what happens.

Hi everyone...
Been trying to figure out what paints of any kind are safe for clear coating over bare plastic with decals..? I have some that are molded in the right colors that I need to decal and just use a clear coat on them....what is everyone using for that in spray cans..??? About the only thing we can get here is a Lacquer spray paint...general purpose...model paints...automotive spray touch up paints.

Jim I tired the Revell front and rear bumpers on my 60 wagon that needs them and i agree with you they dont even look right to me on the AMT ones.

Mark that Jeep is a CJ for sure. Now is it a CJ5 or CJ7. The Nice red Jeep pictured above is a CJ5. The door are what tells you .
Thanks Andy for the information on it.....mine looks just like the red one in the thread here only not as nice..LOL... This is one of my dads old ones from his collection he had. I plan on doing it close to the red one.

If you are building a CJ-5, then yes, the cab I have would be the one you need.
Mike... Mine is the old Daisy Duke style body its the same as mine is anyway....Cant tell if its a Jeep or Willys Jeep much but its 1/25th scale.

With the BushWacker Jeep being reissued, I would be willing to lend a resin caster one of these half cabs to cast. The snow plow is available thru Olson Bros but I could supply one to the caster if enough demand is out there for it.
Thanks for the information Mike....I wonder if there the same ones I need..?
-
Very cool Mike thanks for showing me this. I wont be able to compete with the guys on ebay over it.

Once upon a time there was a resin caster who offered up that half cab and doors, I believe he was out of TN, may have been AF/X Resin? I bought one at a show. Straight re-pop of what was in the original MPC kit.
Thanks Mike...Ill have to see if i can find them and if they still have them.

Mine was the Monogram show rod kit of the Un-Real Roller....been hooked ever since. At least they sort of re-issued it so I could have another one to build. Glad there re-issuing more like I had as a kid....was really good times and great kits.
