  1. Thats the thing about this brand, tons of colors, for sure will have to try it out because they wont be any good if they suck no matter what color they come in. Ill try them out here when i get a chance.
  2. Flocking from the scrapbooking section. On another forum someone suggested Martha stwearts flocking material and at Michaels when i was looking for hers i found these. G studio flocking 4 colors for $1.00. They have about 50 different colors. There only quarter once packages per color but that makes it 25 cents per container. Havent tried them yet but they look pretty good. The two packages are the far right are micro glitter, gonna try that on lowrider paint.
  3. OH that bites, i had my heart set on that one of all. Well better late than never im not gonna gripe because we could be without with a lot of fine kits they brought back. Love round 2!!!
  4. On their website round 2 was supposed to have release the bugaboo model by now but its off their site. I guess then its a no go? anyone hear or read anything about it?
  5. parafilm, now there is an idea,I like that idea... Nice clean building on the engine too, and i love your engine stand!
  6. I know what you go thru as I have felt the same way when it comes to putting it all together. One of the reasons that I paint the body and all the parts and let them sit in the clean plastic boxes you get at wal-mart. Some times for months on end till I feel its all dry and wont get any damage on final assembly. I right now have about 12 kits in various degrees of completion and of the 12 8 of them have been drying in the boxes up to 3 years!!! Its a great excuse to start another project, that why when Im ready the paint has had plenty of time to have dried, so little or no damage. Any paint job can be damaged at any time, but I feel a lot better knowing that the paint should have at least cured enough not to get to damaged. If that makes any sense?
  7. I want to, but right now the wifey says no due to financial situations. Which like you say its cheaper than me just buying it from our last hobby shop here.
  8. I believe I read a few issues back in the editorial about the possibility of model cars mag going on the newstand? Is this correct? Or is it already at certain book and magazine dealers? Reason that I ask is that its easier for me to just buy each issue at the hobby shop in my city, but if for some reason they go out of business like others have I don't want to be with out the magazine. Model car magazine is THE BEST MAG out there for auto models!!!
  9. I could be wrong but it looks like an old time vacuum former..
  10. Yeah really how much for a set shipped to 87111? Those are the coolest decals i have ever seen!!!
  11. Man i love this!!! I love lowriders and making one out of a camaro. Can't wait to see this one done!
  12. Casey, I originally wanted to make it out of styrene, (mainly because i work for a transit advertiser and I am the one that installs the ads and the interior ads mostly are printed on polystyrene 12"x30" panels and when the ads are over i get to keep them instead of throwing them out and they glue together with regular liquid cement), if you think it can be made out of styrene then heck yeah ill give it a try since its not gonna cost me much if not going out and buying a bunch of stuff that I would have to learn how to use, since i have a lifetime supply of sheet plastic. I just figured that using styrene it wouldn't be strong enough. Darren
  13. sjordan2, thank you for the heads up, i do have a respirator and will use it, I have never used fiberglass resin so not sure how toxic it will be. Hopefully by next week i can pick up the supplies to get started on it, but i will be ready. Thanks again for the heads up. Darren
  14. LDO Thanks for the pics, i found those right after i got the mag, i came home looking for other images and those are the ones that got me thinking i can scratchbuild this baby. Thanks again. Darren
  15. Well it looks like I need to get some fiberglass cloth and get building. I will try that. Making it a larger scale would be easier to work with, ill just need to find a 1/8th scale bike to donate the parts for it. Thank you LDO for the help. Darren
  16. LDO, where can i purchase the fiberglass at? and how much? I have never worked with it but the results look fantastic, that funny car body looks great. Darren
  17. Zukiholic, That is awesome!!! Thank you for sharing with us. I was about to put the project on the back burner but this gives me some inspiration. Thank you again.!.!.!
  18. Draggon, I was watching it to see how high it would go for. That was exactly what i was looking for but about 50.00 more than i would have paid for it. So im back to the planning stage again on the body. But thank you for turning me on to it. It never ocurred to me to check out ebay from time to time. Even thinking that such a project might be easie in a 1/20 or 1/16th scale, that is if i can find and engine and bike that scale that i wouldnt have to scratch as well... darren
  19. Draggon, I was watching it to see how high it would go for. That was exactly what i was looking for but about 75.00 more than i could have paid for it. So im back to the planning stage again on the body. But thank you for turning me on to it. It never ocurred to me to check out ebay from time to time. darren
  20. I agree with everyone here, love your work. and cant wait to see the finish 60
  21. No you are right i believe he did have a tutorial for the salt treatment on paint but im looking for patina look. Its kinda like that bad penny model that was built with the pipe organ base. That was made to look like copper and they had that cool green patina look. I have tried it using enamels but its just not working out.
  22. Yeah he is the best that i have seen!!! any tutorials on the forum that you know of?
  23. I have seen it on finished models like "the bad penny" but not sure how to do it. Does any one have a good technique or know where I can find a good tutorial on how to patina plastic? I love the look and have a build coming up that I would like to incorporate the look.
  24. I am not sure if this is the right place on here to post this, however I thought I would try here. I have been reading how to scratch build and i have scratch built parts for models but this would be an entire build from scratch. I picked up the old school rodz mag the other day and fell in love with ed roths mega cycle. I want to build it and not sure what to build the body out of. As you can see it has a lot of compound curves. I was thinking using plastic rod and making a frame work but that may not be strong enough. Brass rod would probably be better, but not sure where to start. Any ideas would be appreciated. Or ideas on how any of you would tackle this project. In 1/24th scale.
