  1. Its going into factory stock trim with a 455...
  2. Thanks tony...If i had the money to build a car, this would be the one...I love trucks, and muscle cars, that is why i love El Caminos and rancheros..lol
  3. Getting closer...Should be ready for color coat tomorrow, sorry for the bad pics..
  4. Any chance I could get you to build a mid 40's power wagon?
  5. shot a tad bit of primer..a couple more massages and it ought to be ready for paint.. Going to raise the ride height in the front a tad...
  6. An interesting thought just occurred to me... What if you were to lower the engine somewhere near level with the rear pumpkin, and really show the engine off.Place it in the middle of the car..This way you could use the existing engine bay for something like a hot tub and put a couple hotties in it...
  7. Some progress...Cut the coils and this will now be ride height...It sits about 2 mm higher in the rear at the wheel wells...
  8. Thanks E1...I saw a 1:1 build (I think it was a 1970)that a guy put together a few years ago.I loved the idea, and am a bit of a 68-71 cutlass nut.I will keep showing progress as I get more done.I am pretty excited with this project...It has gone relatively easy so far..
  9. This is a parts box special.started life as this.. And then last year I did a 180..
  10. lets not also forget that having kids is the best excuse in the world for playing with all those cool toys! LOL...Congrats again!
  11. Cool truck...did i see this one over on DRM? I really like the roof treatment on the body...Cool...
  12. the long roof looks perfectly natural...I really like the way the rear side windows were styled..Very nice build...One that i would drive for sure!!
  13. You have broken the coolness scale....That is just awesome!!!
  14. This is going to be fun to watch!I really love these stub nose trucks....How hard is the hood going to be to get it to fit? Keep the updates rolling along.

    1961 Impala

The best part about this build is my getting to keep it...I actually learned a lot just by studying it to see how these guys do certain things. I have been in weekly chats with these guys, discussing everything under the sun.for over 10 years now,and it is really gratifying to have their work in my collection. The pictures I took are not the best, and even though there are some warts,as Randall calls them,It is my favorite car in my collection. I would love to do it again some time, maybe for someone else.... I would also like to see other groups of people on here do the same...
  17. There is a reason for that...I ,uhhh....just got it on the road in this pic...lol

Brian Fowler...Body man...(unfortunately,he was struck down by gremlins on this build, and only finished the prep work...After sending the unfinished body onto the next person,he went on to paint a flawless Ferrari....) Randall Cooper..Final body paint and interior paint and assembly. Andy Wyatt...Engine detail and assembly.. Ricky Moore,Chassis work, ride height, and making those wide wheels fit.. Gary Lyles...Donated the wheels and tires, and was parts custodian for a year...He had more to do,but circumstances got in the way.We all just blamed Brian..lol And finally me,who did final assembly...all the little chome bits...enjoy!
  19. I like my old beater Chevy...I owned the real thing years ago...Every time I look at it,I remember it with good memories..
  20. Man..I thought you were in a building hiatus and then this comes out of nowhere.. I love it...Perfect color combination.I am not even one much for 40's cars, but I would definitely tool around in this one... Excellent work! Now get to work on something else...like a half finished chevy truck...
  21. Beautiful work!!! I love the paint and color combo you went with..VERY nice choices...The interior looks great too.. Are not the Lindy kits GREAT..I wish they had done more 60's cars.. Very cool!
  22. This is off to a really hot start...Love the look and the way it sits...Ideas for an engine?
  23. I got this years ago for 50 cents at a yard sale....built it up shortly after as this.
