  1. Stu... I had no idea that the Dodge van body he used was valuable and sought after. When John told me about this project prior to him starting it he mentioned that he would have to buy a couple kits to make the body long enough. But he remembered he had a van body in his parts box and he figured he would just use that since he was going to have to redo the front grill anyway, plus the fact that he wouldn't have to spend the extra money on the kits. Steve.... Please tell me exactly how I "cut him a new one" as you stated? My response was not disrespectful or rude by any means towards Stu's post. I was just stating what I know about the build and by no means am I giving you any flack for posting what you did. I have known John for the past 8 years, I met him at the NNL West back in 2012 and we have become friends over the years. Just like there are many other builders who post on the forum here that I have become friends with from either seeing them at shows or talking to them off line over the years.
  2. It may have been the logical choice to purchase 2 van kits but the fact that he had this van body in his parts bin that he wanted to use and start with that. He didn't want to go spend the money on 2 kits just for the body. If you have ever followed any John's other work, you will notice that he always says that his builds aren't an exact replica and they are good enough for the girls he goes with. And the type of builder he is, he is always adding his own little flare and creativity to his builds. I am sure there is a rhyme or reason as to why he did what he did. I appreciate the fact that John is willing to share his builds with us because he could easily keep his builds to himself and not share how he does his work here at all. He is a talented builder and I personally enjoy seeing his builds come together. At the end of the day one thing I know is that John will turn this into a stunning model when it's finished.
  3. John.... you aren't messing around at all are you ?.... Holy smokes you are already kicking butt on this build. It's off to a great start and looking great. Looks like you pretty much have the body done and are ready to start on the chassis. Keep up the Killer work
  4. Tim.... Your updates are incredible my friend. I am so amazed an blown away by your machining. I would love to know what some of your set ups on the Mill are like. I have been doing some work my self and you definitely have to think about how your going to approach a part, anyway will have to show you some of my mediocre attempts at it. Your finish is 2nd to none. Such inspiring work.
  5. Glad to see you are finally back at the Bench, it's long overdue. Going to be fun watching this awesome build, you will knock it out of the park like you always do.
  6. That body was a Flashpoint resin body and unfortunately Terry closed shop a while ago. I would suggest going to ebay and you may be able to find one there. A few of his bodies I have seen on there have gone for a pretty penny.
  7. Art.... the build is gorgeous and you are doing some awesome work on it. I can't wait to see this one in person.

  23. Tim.... I have been away from here for a little bit and man oh man what can I say but this build is truly outstanding. Without a doubt this has to be one of the best builds of all time and you are one of the best out there. All of your hard work has paid off on this one. Your talents are seriously impressive my friend. Though out this whole build I kept having to remind myself that this is 1/25th scale and it continues to blow me away thinking about that with all of the details you packed into this one. You didn’t miss one single detail and you continued to raise the bar on every update you posted for us. I couldn’t be more happy for you that you have finished this one, While I will miss the updates but I know your next build is going to be killer. Congrats my friend on this Masterpiece. Cheers!!
