  1. I live in Az also and have had my wagon since 92. It's been in the family since 82. Since it is older than the OBDII cars it has to go on the rollers and has the dyno test. I hat going because the test opperators never do the proper test. Since it is a 71 they do not have to do any equipment inspections. They are not even supposed to test the gas cap (that applies to 74 and newer in AZ). I do have to have a cap thou. So may times I have had ispectors fail me for the cap and I have even had an ispector try to fail me for not having an (evaporitive emmisions system) He was looking for the charcole canister but it was not factory for Plymouth in 71. I have a fuel vapor line that goes to the breather on the valve cover. Once I pointed that out to him and even showed him the vapor line. I usually wait till the end of the day and go through then. One of the stations is open till 7pm and I go in at 6:30-6:45. There is usually no line and by then they are tired and just want to go home. Since they are usually dead and have to open up the Dyno lane for me I get the experienced operator, sometimes.
  2. I bought the stock kit back in 2008. It's a direct copy of the promo and was not warped. Here is the photos I took of the kit. It has the correct 55 interior and steering wheel. I have since had the bumpers and hubcaps chromed. My only complaint is the lack of the seam for the fender skirts. My example has a bit of a texture to it, and made the chrome difficult to smooth out.
  3. Very nice start on a great kit. BTW this kit has a 4v 440 and not a Six Pack. It has the Air Grabber option and uses the oval air cleaner that is similar to the six pack set up. If you want the Six Pack it is the the similar 70 Super Bee kit.
  4. Does Red Frog Hobbies make the kit or do they carry the Historic Racing Miniatures kits?
  5. I knew you didn't, But my point was that because AFX had a kit out before yours and you made a better one. Do they have a right to be upset with you? Legally the whole resin section of our hobbie is a copyrite nightmare. I would be shocked if anything was actually pattented or copyrited. So Shawn Carpenter has been told to stop making stuff, Has anyone else? Has Modelhaus had any trouble selling copies of promo and kit parts? I would guess 90% of their stuff is direct unmodified parts.
  6. I have a 72 Demon kit from AFX-N-Scale that I bought 5 years ago. Now there kit is a 71 body with the newer AMT 71 Duster engine compartment and a 72 grill. It is not the best but does it predate yours and could they say you stole theirs? I'm not saying you did, but how does anyone prove that they alone made the parts and that no one else has the right to do so?
  7. This is Historic Racing Miniatures engine kit. It is a small block for the Mark I versions raced. It is a very nice kit. I don't know what his wait times are currently but I waited 18 months for my last order (a 61 Corvette)
  8. For me it's the Revell 65 - 66 Shelby / Mustang. I have 7 built up and when I find them at a good price I can't leave without one. I have 6 more unbuilt in my stash.
  9. I didn't think I would be a minority on this one but it looks like I am. I love muscle cars and build many of them so I have built the same kits many times all different ways. Lets see. I have built 2 Revell Thunderbolts and have 3 more. I have built 5 Revell Cobras and have many more to build. I just finished another Johan Javelin. That brings me to my next question. Are we talking about the exact same kit or are we including similar kits with variations. I just finished a 69 Cougar Eliminator that has a Boss 302 and a 4 speed. Plus I'm building a 69 Cougar 428 CJ with an automatic and different wheels.
  10. I'm with many others on here. I have two resin Demons, a 71 and a 72 plus I bought both interiors that Missing Link offered for them. Then I scored gold by getting the decals from The Last Detail. The rare decals that even have The Sizzler on them!! Only because I thought that a kit that has not been reissued in 42 years could be reissued. I aplaud Round 2 for finding it and restoring it. I know I will buy another one.
  11. Fastest is debatable. The 70 Chevelle LS6 454 had the highest advertised horsepower at 450. The 70 Buick GS had the highest advertised torque at 510. The Buick is looking good. Is it going to be lowered with protouring wheels or traditional lowrider wire wheels?
  12. 4 mill is pushing it for me. I better check and see what the insurance will be on it!!
  13. From what I understand. The tooling dies are made from stainless steel blocks and a small one is around $20,000 after it is engraved or cut. My mom used to work for a company that did plastic injection molding. And many of the dies cost $100,000 or more. They didn't make model parts but I do remember them making the plastic credit card car keys. Most of the time one die would shoot more than one part. The dies I saw would be large and in the case of tires. One die would make 40 tires in one shot or more.
  14. You did a good job on that. I really like the side stripes and vinyl top. My brother owns a 73 Javelin SST that has the vinyl top trim and was painted two tone. He says it was built with those stripes too.
  15. At least with this one you got what was on the box are. It just is not a Satelite. It's a Roadrunner just no Roadrunner decals.
  16. This one has a box art without the body moldings that are on the body. Plus my kit had the regular 442 front bumper without the scoops.
  17. This one came with Black decals instead of the blue ones that are pictured. The real car has blue stripes.
  18. This one has the 428 version on the box so I bought it. It even shows the 428 engine on the side. Also the wheels are not included. This has the 302 Eliminator in the box. If you want the 428 Version you have to get this one.
  19. I didn't read anything about the Canada plant shutting down. Gm has a truck plant in Canada also. I think it's the same plant but not sure. I know all Crew cabs were made in Canada only at one time recently.
  20. I am wondering the same thing. I'm restoring a couple MPC annuals, a 71 Camaro SS and a 71 Firebird Formula. Neither one has mirrors and they look out of place without them.
  21. I'm just starting to get some of these hapening to me and I'm only 39. My first clue was that my MOM stopped buying my models and told me I should get my wife to do that now. I drove my custom 99 S10 Xtreme with 20 inch wheels through a Wendy's drive thou. The girl that got my money said to me (Driving your sons truck!!). My wife and I don't have any kids... I have a few freinds that I went to High School that have kids that have kids.
  22. It probably got an Impala tailgate at some point in time. I'm not sure but I believe that only the Impala wagon got the three taillights.
