John, I would direct these questions to MCW. Their site seems to be almost completely lacking in product use information. I have never purchased from them, but are their paints supposed to be ready to spray or ??

Other 'an a phone number ( OMG, that is sooooooo 20th Century ! ) there's no other contact info - and their FAQ 'page' is empty (?!?).

IIRC, their lacquers are ready-to-shoot, but not their enamels.

Ya know Mike, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Round 2 comes out with an older 2 wheel drive square body based on their current kits in the next year or two.

Maybe even a long fleetside, who knows.

I'd love to see both long bed and short bed Wideside as well as Fenderside iterations , in 2WD .

From there, the resin artists could offer C/K 20 and 30 conversions .

  3. I happened into Pegasus hobby store this past Saturday , and I picked up a bottle of MCW's Curious Yellow enamel ( 5.00 $ ! Quite reasonable ).

Now, I have one of those Prevail sprayers which I'm going to employ ( I don't have the facilities to use an airbrush - noisy compressors and such in an apartment setting = no go ). My question is, Which reducer / thinner ( or both, if necessary ) is best for these enamels ?
I had my eyes set on Mr. Color Leveling Thinner -- is that a good product for this instance ?
I love Mr. Hobby and Tamiya, as both are just the best I've used over the years.

Any input and recommendations (and ad hominem attacks ) is are am welcomed.

  4. While I haven't much to offer in respect to your enquiries, I can tell you that this kit has its origins in late 1983 ( ! )  as the then-new (and groundbreaking) 1984 model. That chassis is almost dead-bollocks to the 1983 original.

Bottom line ? Perhaps the chassis is de facto "warped" due to the ad infinitum running of the ad sequitur annual kits ?

    Best to you and regards.

  5. Another gem from the  Notorious sessions of mid-late 1967. This is Mc Guinn fooling around with the then-new Moog synthesiser - a 9,000$ instrument ! The Moog was used extensively on Notorious (and to a lesser extent on other Byrds albums) - one of the first "Pop" (Rock) albums to feature the instrument ( The Monkees Pieces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. was released in November 1967, beating the Byrds album by a couple of months ).

    Without further ado :

  6. An "incomplete" recording ; a studio instrumental from Summer or Autumn 1967. Chris Hillman took the song to Manassas who recorded a slower-tempo, vocals-included version for their 1972 self-titled album.

I'm keen on this up-tempo take - too bad that it never received a vocal treatment.
