MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. Calling this build nice would simply be an understatement. It’s one of the nicest weathered builds I have seen. Looks like a real 1:1 truck. Amazing!
  2. The difference between 1/24 and 1/25 scale wouldn’t really be noticeable. Maybe for tires and rims, but seat belts are small to begin with, to me, wouldn’t be a problem.
  3. The last pic is a 64, but it had the support removed. Here it is with the Starliner support.
  4. Just keep your eyes open. Prices and shipping are a bit high, but I’ll bet youll find a kit for a decent price. Not totally sure if the 57 Fords have the same frame? The Starliner chassis only requires minimal work to get it to fit. Even after cutting the radiator support and screw bosses out of the body, and using the Starliner radiator support it’s not too hard.
  5. You’re welcome Jim. I’m glad I was a help. Keep us posted on your build when you get it going. I absolutely love the old Ford cars!
  6. When I was just learning to wet sand and polish models, I tried my hand on these two cars. These are the only cars I polished the plastic. Just polished the colored plastic with the three step Novus. The Tasca car turned out better than the Gas Ronda car, from polishing the plastic. I might get better decals for these two cars. Here are a few pics with just polished plastic.
  7. I have those decals for the Tasca car as well. I believe that car had a red interior as compared to the tan colored interior that was in other lightweights. Now you got me thinking of doing another lightweight.
  8. I built 14 Thunderbolts, as I had decals for quite a few of them. I did get lazy on these two though. They are just polished plastic, with Novus, and decals. Both cars have the kit supplied decals which weren’t in the best shape.
  9. I found John’s thread on his build. This shows the seats. If you search him, he has done a few very nice lightweight builds.
  10. The front seats I do have, but I’ll have to pull them from the stash tomorrow, and get a pic for you. Another builder on this forum, greatly improved the seats, to look like the real actual seats. I’ll see if I can find his build, as it was several years ago.
  11. There would be a bit of work involved. I have a pic here of the resin bucket from MCW, that is being used in a current WIP of the Mel Burns 1963 F300 car. This dash is from a kit, but the resin interior does come with a dash that has the radio delete, and bucket seats.
  12. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/engine-cowling-falls-off-boeing-plane-southwest-airlines-flight-denver-houston/ These occurrences are becoming too frequent.
  13. This thing is seeming to take forever.
